"Jacob, are you absolutely sure you want to go school today?"

Jacob nodded quickly, this was last day of school for the week and he really needed to go. After all, he hadn't had a chance to catch up with Vera, Sky and Eve yesterday and he needed them to know he was alright again...

He'd come home last night exhausted and with some minor bruises still remaining from the fight. Nothing compared to what Josh had dealt with but still...it had sent Jacob's mother into a panic. Even worse, he'd had to try and explain his odd behaviour to his parents and wasn't exactly having much luck with that.

"But Jacob, dear..." his mother stepped closer, placing her hand over his school bag to block him from grabbing it "I still don't know what put you in that state last night or why you've been acting so off..."

Jacob sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. Its not like he could just say he'd couldn't tell her. His mother was...far more persistent than Joshua's mother.
"Mum, seriously, I'm fine now. It doesn't matter"

"But it does! Why won't you just talk to me Jacob? You've always talked to me about your problems before"

Jacob frowned, giving his mother a quick hug.
"And I'll keep doing that, I promise. Just not with this, I'm sorry" he pulls away "look I promise that as soon as I can, I'll talk to you about it. I'll tell you everything. But until then...just...please drop it...?"

"Jacob..."

"Look, I'm gonna be late for school if I stand here discussing this any longer. May I please go now Mum?"

His mother eventually sighed loudly, handing him his school bag.
"Alright...fine. You should go if you don't want to be late...but this is not over"

"I know...love you mum"

"Love you too"

Jacob swung his bag over his shoulder and waved with a huge smile before heading out and down to the bus stop. He didn't mean to worry her, but he had no intention of telling his mother unless he could. He certainly didn't want to give his team any more reason not to trust him...

Jacob pulled his Diamond star out, staring at it. They still had no idea if he was actually free from Serpenta's control. Sure, the others hadn't brought it up yet, but they were all...tense. Jacob could tell...

"Hey! Silver!"

The silver ranger turned, smiling widely when he saw Josh running over.
"What the heck are you doing over here Josh? You live way closer to the school than me"

Josh snickered, nudging him with a huge smile.
"Hey, can't I hang out with my best friend?"

Jacob rolled his eyes, putting his stone away.
"You're lucky most people would assume Silver is just a nickname"

"Well, it is" Josh replies "just one with a unique origin"

"What is with you, Carter and Wolf calling each other by your colours?"

"Its fun" Josh replies, then he lowers his voice to a whisper "besides when we're in battle its easier to avoid saying each other's names like that. Not like we want random people knowing what's going on."

Jacob sighs, sitting down as he waits for the bus. Josh sits down too, dropping his bag on the ground.
"How's your injury...?" Jacob asks hesitantly "...It...sounded pretty bad..."

Josh shrugged.
"I mean, yeah...but its my fault not yours" He replies "I was...in a bad mood, I didn't really want to talk to the others so...I never went to Lilian or Lady Nira to heal it. Honestly, if it wasn't for Adam it'd be even worse..."
