History as it happens part 1

"Yes ma'am that'll be $3.20"

Ngadria raised an eyebrow as she walked into the bakery Eve's father ran. She'd never seen the place so full. Poor Eve looked overwhelmed.

"Thank you-" The phone rang "Hello? Uh-could you hold one second? Don't worry you'll love the hold music!" Eve said cheerfully.

She looked at the back door as her father walked.

"Dad! Help!"

Her father laughed.

"I'll take over, you could use a break"

Eve smiled thankfully before heading over to Ngadria.

"Hi...." she sighed tiredly.

Ngadria smiled at her friend.

"Eve, how do you keep it up?"

"I have no clue" She replies "I swear between school, gymnastics and helping out here I hardly have free time. I don't think I could take anything else"

The yellow ranger nods, understanding easily how she felt.

"I was going to hang out with you here but.... well.... looks rather chaotic.... perhaps we could go to my place?"

Eve nods, before she looks out to the back room.

"Let me go freshen up and grab a jumper, it's cold out there"

A few minutes later she came back with her long red hair neatly plaited and a pink jumper with a yellow stripe through the middle on.

"I've never seen you in that before"

Eve smiled as they got outside, twirling a little.

"Do you like it? It's from my mum"

"It's nice she's sends you things"

"She hates having to go so many places for work. So she does do her best to send me letters and little gifts" she giggled a little "Mum says I could use more pink and yellow in my wardrobe"

Ngadria chuckled.

"Just borrow some stuff from me then. I have plenty of yellow"

"Maybe I will"

"Come on, if we hurry I think we can get to mine before the cake mum is making finishes cooking"

Eve jumps.

"Chocolate?"

"Of course!" Ngadria replies happily "Hey! We might beat my Dad home!"

Carlos sighed.

"I haven't seen Lilian at all today....or yesterday...." he mumbled "I hope Serpenta hasn't worked out what she's up to"

Levi nods.

"Yeah....same." The gold ranger glances over to Brody's cell the red ranger is fast asleep "you think we'll be out of here soon?"

Carlos is quiet while he thinks about that.

"I'm going to say.... just... assume we will be" he eventually replies "if not by ourselves then thanks to the Jewelite Rangers"

Levi smiles widely in response, tipping his cowboy hat.

"Got it" he stretches then leans against the wall "be positive"

As Ngadria and Eve were walking a group of Oretrons swarmed around them.

"Oh no..." The yellow Ranger muttered.
