It was early the next morning, walking into Ore Beach Hospital was Carter, Ngadria and her mother.

Her mother went ahead to let the nurses know that they were going in to see Ngadria's father. She was excited, the last time Carter had seen her father he'd not been very well, but this time he was apparently doing better and maybe the two could have a proper conversation.

Though...Carter didn't look so happy.

She taps his shoulder nervously.

"Are you alright?" she whispers.

He looks up.

"Huh? Oh yeah" he frowns, staring at the hospital wall "just thinking about Adam...I'm a little concerned about him. So, I figure I'll slip off to see him a bit later. We already said we'd go catch up with Ross and him anyway"

"That's fine." she smiles widely "I'm sure he'll be fine though, no matter what exactly happened to him yesterday, he's Adam Park. He doesn't go down easily"

"Yeah...I figured that much"

The two follow Ngadria's mother into her father's room. She runs over excitedly.

"Dad!"

"Hello there sweetheart" the older man was sitting up in his bed, looking a great degree healthier than he had been the last time Carter had seen him "Are you doing well? Looking after yourself?"

She nods happily.

"Yup! I couldn't tell you last time, but I've been doing a bit of martial arts!"

"Ah, really?"

"Mhm! With Carter" she points to the blue ranger, her smile wide.

"Hey Mr. Rosewood, good to see you doing better"

"Good to see you too Carter, hope you're looking after her"

"Hah, trust me, Ngadria doesn't need looking after, this girl is almost beating me whenever we spar now. She can 100% take care of herself"

Ngadria's mother chuckles, shaking her head.

"Ngadria, do you mind coming with me? I need to check with the nurses about something?"

"Oh! Of course!" she follows her mother while waving "be back soon!"

"See ya N"

Ngadria's father stares at Carter in silence for a minute before speaking up.

"So, how is she doing?"

"Hm?"

"Ngadria?"

Carter looks thoughtful.

"Amazing, she's catching on so quickly, she puts in so much work and tries so hard and it's paying off" he smiles widely "honestly, she really can look after herself"

He nods quietly, looking deep in thought.

"Carter, though that may be the case, might I ask you something?"

"Of course, anything"

"Look after her for me. Protect her. Since - as her father - I can tell she may be getting involved in things that are dangerous for her. Now I'm certainly not planning to tell her not to. She's grown up now and I need to stop seeing her as my little girl. I want her to be her own person, but if she's doing dangerous I can't help her, I don't have the physical ability to do so" he gestures to the hospital "after all, I do too much heavy lifting and I end up in here"

"I'm sure she still appreciates your presence"

"I'm sure she does too, but I know I won't always be here to help and if something were to happen to me, which is highly likely I would like to know she's safe. I can see she adores you and you have the heart and skill to keep her safe. So please protect her for me?"
