Past and Premonitions

Jacob looked around the temple, where in the world was Lilian?

It had been two days since getting the Morganite, they hadn't used it yet, because Serpenta and Scaro hadn't launched any attacks...planning something they supposed.

So the Rangers decided a meeting would be helpful, they could discuss their current situation. After all the better prepared they are the less trouble they're going to have...hopefully.

This included Josh who – despite basically being banned from fighting for a while – still wanted to help out, even if it was just in the base helping Nira and Zar with things. The meeting had gone relatively well, though they were still unsure about their chances at least they felt they had a chance.

But Jacob had noticed Lilian wasn't sitting in, which is usually something Lilian loves doing. He searched around a little more before he spotted her familiar form just outside, he adjusted his Jewelite jacket and slipped outside.

Lilian was sitting on a rock, swinging her legs back and forth as she stared at the crazy beautiful view of Ore Beach.

"Heya Lilian" he says calmly "Mind if I join you...?"

Lilian turned slightly, smiling at the sight of him.

"Oh! Of course Fides in domino! Please do!" Her cheerful voice reminded Jacob of how young she looked, though she acted more mature than most of the rangers usually.

He slid onto the rock next to her – thank goodness it was big enough – and decided, what the hell? He'll ask.

"Lilian, if you don't mind me asking, how old exactly are you?"

"My age?" Lilian asks, blinking as she thought about it "I believe – if we don't apply the time that I spent trapped in Serpenta's realm – I would be of about 12 years"

"12?!" Jacob blinked in shock "Lilian, god you're not even a teenager!"

"Is there something the matter Fides in domino? Does that surprise you?"

"Uh, yeah it does!" Jacob replied "I just...you're 12, why are you so damn mature!?"

"Hm? I suppose it is my training as a sorceress."

"Huh...how's that going by the way? I heard Nira was helping you."

"Very well thank you! Nira says if we continue as we are now, I will likely be able to complete my apprenticeship around the same time you rangers complete your schooling."

Jacob laughed.

"Actually, only the other five are graduating"

"You are not?"

"No, they're all 17 and 18. I'm 16 remember?"

"I...didn't realise age was a factor..."

"It is." Jacob yawned and stretched "Still, I'm going to watch their graduation, it should be fun!"

"I certainly hope it is...a blast...?" she sounded uncertain "Did I use that expression correctly?"

He nodded, a proud smile crossing his face.

"Definitely"

"Ah! Wonderful!"

They sat in silence for a while before Jacob spoke up again.

"So, why are you out here?"

Lilian sighed, looking down.

"You recall that the this was once the province of the diamond?"
