So it begins

"Are you sure you can't come over today Ngadria?" Eve asked, it was a weekend gymnastics practice and they were just packing up to leave.

The yellow ranger shakes her head in response.
"I...have some other things I need to do today. Perhaps tomorrow?"

Even nods.
"Well, alright, if you insist" she smiles widely "But thanks for the extra tips today!"

"Your welcome." Ngadria pats her friend on the shoulder "you're really getting the hang of it, Eve, soon enough you won't need my help at all"

Eve chuckles sarcastically.
"Hah, yeah like that'll ever happen"

"Don't doubt yourself so much!" Ngadria responds before quickly checking her phone. It was about 4:00pm. Good, Carter would still be at the park then "I really need to go now! But I'll text you later!"

"Alright! Bye N!"

Ngadria practically skipped away. Humming the whole time. She was headed straight for the park. She and Carter had been talking the night before. They were both equally concerned about the arrival of Lord Scaro, they couldn't help but worry that perhaps he would prove too strong for them...and unfortunately Ngadria had slightly more reason to be concerned.

Sure, in the last three months she had managed to hold her own against Serpenta's monsters with her gymnastics skills but she really wasn't a 'fighter' per se. Even morphed she knew she was a good deal behind Carter and Wolf in skill. Joshua had some prior martial arts knowledge and Alice was always really good at defending herself. Even without training. When Jacob had joined, she had thought perhaps that would mean she wasn't the only untrained one anymore but even he had proven to be...oddly skilled in the use of his sword, both morphed and unmorphed.

So...she'd come to a conclusion. One she had been far too nervous to go to Carter about...instead she decided, well, she would just drop in on his training with Carlos. Perhaps they'd be willing to give her some pointers. She certainly didn't want them being forced to defend her if she ever found herself severely outmatched in a fight.

As she neared the park, she could already see them training. She leaned against a tree, deciding not to interrupt the sparring and instead to wait till they finished. The yellow ranger couldn't help but smile as she watched.

Carlos was aiming a quick succession of punches at Carter, who blocked them all nearly perfectly. Carter instantly leant to his left and caught the next punch and stepped backwards flipping Carlos over. The black space ranger laughed a little.

"Damn, the student bests the master" he jokes.

Carter helps him up with a smile.
"Hey, hey, thought we were equals here?"

"True" Carlos responds "Can't believe I wasn't prepared for that. Adam has pulled that exact move on me so many times"

"Guess you didn't expect me to do it" Carter says before walking over to the bench near them and picking up his drink bottle gulping some of the water down.

Carlos followed him to collect his own bottle before he noticed Ngadria watching them.
"Hey Carter, isn't that your girlfriend?"

Carter turned bright red.
"What?! We're not – she's not – wait...what?" he turned around and saw her looking confused "Oh...h-hey N!"

Ngadria smiles sweetly, a little red herself. She walks over and giggles.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to spy, I just didn't want to interrupt."

"I didn't expect to see you today. I'm still training but we can hang out afterwards if you want?" Carter suggests before looking even more confused as she puts her bag down by the bench.
