And so Power Rangers Jewelite comes to an end.

Hello everyone! And welcome to my final author's note, its a long one so...strap in.

I'm...happy and sad to see it done. Writing this fanfiction has been quite the experience. I grew so attached to these characters, hence I'm unwilling to suddenly say goodbye. I will say when the ten episode countdown began, it almost didn't hit me that the story was almost over.

Then I finished 'A Promise to Keep Part 3' and went "Oh frick, the finale is about to begin...oh god"

While I look back on the earlier episodes and cringe, I still feel proud of every single one. At the time, that was my best and if I can cringe at them now, it only means that my best as improved since then. I am honestly so pleased that reads wracked up on Jewelite surprisingly quickly in comparason to my other fanfictions from the past.

I have to thank the Morphintokusociety because my initial inspiration was Ancient Age, funnily enough my green ranger being named Josh was actually a complete coincidence that only occured to me after like half the series was out XD

I had always intended to include tributes, but it was deciding which ones that was the hardest part. I eventually stuck with either seasons I had watched a majority of, or characters that I felt really attached to even though I didn't see much of the season.

Hence Carlos appearing and Brody and Levi. I didn't see much of In space/Turbo or much of Ninja Steel at the time, but I felt attached to those characters.

Adam was always going to play a fairly larger role but it was as I came to the decision that 'if he was going to play a large role, he should - at the least - have some semblance of an arc' while I'm not fully sure he did, thinking about the way I wanted Adam to develop left me with ideas that I simply couldn't explore in Jewelite, the setting and the focus weren't right for it. (more on that later)

My favourite episodes to right were probably all the ones connected to Jacob's storyline, they were the most fun writing I'd ever had alongside Ross' three parter 'A Promise to Keep' in close second. Josh ended up becoming my favourite, I think in some wierd way, he developed more than any of the other rangers.

In episode one, he'd drop anything and everyone for Alice, nothing else mattered. He didn't act all that responsible and honestly, seemed like he'd remain comic relief as I had initially created him to be. But by the finale, he's making decisions that involve ignoring that Alice needs help to help another friend. Choosing to take situations more seriously and just becoming a more well rounded, well respected individual in the long run.

Can't lie, Adam's tribute is my favourite. I love writing him lol XD

I know that in the end the general premise of Power Rangers is always the same:
A group of relatively normal people chosen to the save the world. Becoming better people in the long run for it.

That theme has always warmed my heart and I really hope it came through in Jewelite. I'd like to think that the rangers changed a lot over the course of the series.

After all, in the end their ranger powers didn't defeat Scaro, their traits did.

From legendary rangers to side characters and everything in between, writing them, watching everyone grow and develop as people, it honestly made me so happy. Made some of my tougher days a little bit better. I changed plans for the story so often, character arcs, storylines and series direction changed on a whim but I think I still managed to wrap everything up fairly neatly...

Well, Almost everything.

I wonder if ya'll remember a comment I made in a previous author's note regarding Adam and his son. How, I could write a whole story with those two as the main characters and never get bored.

That wasn't just a one off comment.

I was fully serious.

Soon enough, a new story shall begin. Directly connected to Jewelite but with new rangers, a new mentor, some new and old enemies and many other hopefully interesting things.

Before that can begin however, another mini story must be written, to set up a couple final things for this new story that unfortunately didn't fit into Jewelite's plot.

This isn't quite the end for the Jewelite Power Rangers, there's still more things to come with them here and there. I'm far too attached to let go quite yet.

But for now, it is a temporary farewell.

I thank you all for reading and putting up with this HUGE note. I hope you're all doing well and that you've enjoyed the past two and half years of reading Jewelite, if you've been around that long. I hope you've enjoyed the story as much as I did.

I'll see you all again very soon...

When its finally time to Open the Codex.

Love Evie Alistair ~~
