"So what the strange one said about Loyalty was correct?" Tenebris questions, Ross' explanation had made more sense than anything the rangers had said before.

"Definitely. You can't just do whatever someone wants. It's like my Uncle Carlos does, sure he's loyal to my dad. They've been friends for years but that doesn't mean that he's always going to do what my Dad wants. That's why he helped me hide my father's morphers"

"Does that not put your father in danger?"

"He's in more danger morphing than he is not doing it." Ross replied "Morphing right now for him could really hurt him...he's not physically able to handle it right now"

Tenebris nods, beginning to understand the concept.

"I see..." he folds his arms "And...Scaro and Serpenta, Should I be loyal to them?"

"It's not up to me to tell you that. That's the thing about...right and wrong. What's right for one person, is wrong for another. In my mind, being loyal to them is wrong. But it could be right for you" Ross explains "I'd say...do what's right for you, whether I agree with it or not"

"...Hm...."

Ross remains silent for a moment before speaking up:

"Hey, can I ask you a question?"

"Of course human"

"First" Ross begins "Stop calling me 'human' and 'child' it's...weird. Just call me Ross"

Tenebris looked momentarily confused before nodding.

"As you wish, Ross"

"Now...uhm...my question for you is are you...happy doing what Scaro wants?"

"Happy...?"

"Yeah, is it your choice? Do you enjoy it?"

Tenebris frowned in thought.

"I felt...I almost felt pain watching Phira torture you...I believe that indicates the opposite?" He says "I...disagree with his...orders and I have feelings I do not fully comprehend but I believe it's...anger? But..."

"But?" Ross questions.

"...But even if I wished to disobey him, I could not. He created me, my very existence is his to do with what he will. In an instant, he could tear me to shreds as if I never existed in the first place. I would die for...going against his orders"

The warrior grew confused when anger seemed to build in Ross' eyes.

"That's not fair..."

"It is not?"

"No!! Everyone deserves to make their own decisions! You shouldn't spend your whole existence doing things you don't like because you're afraid to die!! Scaro has no right to create you and then...expect you to just...be a mindless servant forever! That's no life!"

"Is that not what a parent does to their offspring?"

"Of course not! My dad set out rules but I'm still allowed to be who I want to be, make my own choices in life. Like I chose to put myself in this situation when I did what Wolf wanted!"

"You confuse me."

"What?"

"You confuse me" Tenebris repeats "You speak about making your own decisions and yet, you do as other's ask of you?"

"Yes, but...because I want to. I'm not afraid of being destroyed just because I don't want to. It's my choice to clean up the table when dad asks me to....you should have that choice too. The choice to go against him...but I wouldn't want you to die because you did"
