EPISODE 45!! OH GOD, HOW!? XD
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ross had to go over what this...person had just said a few times before finding his voice once more, he stood up shakily. Eyes never leaving the soft gaze of what was basically an enigma now.

"But...that's...my Dad is Adam...you..."

"Is something the matter?" the person asks "Are you alright?"

"N-No! No I'm really not" he shakes his head rapidly "You can't be Adam because my Dad is Adam and...and..."

He frowns, looking the person up and down again, wait...this was...this was how his dad looked around his graduation. Ross didn't often see photos of his Dad's graduation, or of his Dad's time with long hair in general. It was something Adam called 'a Phase' and one he often pretended never happened. Though Ross couldn't understand why, he thought his Dad looked kinda cool.

But it was no wonder he didn't immediately recognise this 'form'.

"...You look my Dad and now that I think about you sound like him too...but you can't be him"

'Adam' chuckles.

"Don't think about it too hard just yet"

Ross frowns, shakes his head and tries to fit it into some logical stream of questions. Eventually he takes a deep breath and speaks up again.

"...What are you?"

"...Hm...how do I put it...? I'm...not a person, I'm...I'm a fragment, a fragment of the Morphing Grid"

"Of the...Morphing Grid...?"

"Yes, fragments of the grid can break off for many reasons. It happens all the time and they often appear in many ways. As the grid is self sustaining, tiny fragments breaking off is of no consequence"

Ross looked confused.

"So...then why are you... how...?"

"Well, to answer your questions as simply as I can. Like the grid itself extends across time and space and connects to every ranger past, present and future. Fragments like myself do as well" he...it leans against the wall of the cell "I have found myself attached to you."

"Attached to me?"

"Yes. It happened quite some years ago and you might find it better if your father explained. After all, he's well aware of my presence"

"Why do you look like him?"

"I can look like any ranger at any point that they held the power. I have a vague knowledge of their feelings and memories too, though only that which is connected to the power. For example, I couldn't say what Adam's favourite...movie is now but I can tell you it used to be the bride of Hackensack"

Ross tilted his head.

"That used to be his favourite?! That old horror movie? Dad won't touch that movie ...wait if it's not connected to his time as a ranger how come you-"

"Because strange as it may sound, it is connected to his experiences as a Ranger. But that's a tale for another time" It smiles.

"...Why look like my dad? Did you want me to know something was up?"

"No actually, but you would...feel...I felt as though, taking on a form you may recognise but not understand why...would make you feel more comfortable interacting with me and who better than your father?"

"...If you've been...attached to me for so long...why only appear now?"

"Because I'm needed now. Before, you had no relationship to the ranger life minus your own father and his connections. So, I - a mere echo of the grid - had no need to involve myself. I just observed. As I saw things, you would remain living a relatively normal life...however, the moment you entered Ore Beach with your father...things began to change. Now it seems you have been interconnected with many rangers, befriended those outside your father's influence."
