Carter was practically asleep on his feet in class, he had Ngadria staring at him through every lesson they had.

Why was this? Because although his mother didn't spot any fresh bruises, thank god for long sleeve t-shirts, she had commented on his exhaustion and sent him to bed early.

Even worse for some strange reason the blue ranger simply couldn't shake this feeling that something really bad had happened, thus he hadn't slept all night.

Eventually, which was about recess break, the yellow ranger had had enough of watching him walk around like he was the living dead so she decided to ask him about what was wrong....which was a good move....

Because Wolf had an answer.

"Look I just... couldn't sleep...." the blue ranger muttered bitterly, which was unlike him to sound so..... depressed. For goodness sakes his gem is the gem of Nobility and Joy.

"Why not?" Ngadria insisted, sitting down across from him.

"It was just...."

"A bad feeling" Wolf finished, standing by the table. His friend looked up in surprise.

"How'd you....?"

"Because I had a similar uncomfortable feeling last night...." he explained "and I'm not the only one, I saw Josh and Alice this morning they both felt the same thing"

Ngadria paused to think back to last night.

"Yes, now that you mention it....there did feel like something was off last night but I brushed it off"

"So did I until I heard from Josh and Alice" Wolf said sitting down "who wants to bet Jacob felt it too?"

Carter chuckled weakly.

"I'll take that bet"

Ngadria smiled to see him cheering up if only a little.

"What do you suppose it means?"

Wolf lowered his voice to almost a whisper.

"I called Nira during my free period this morning. She told me that the Jewelite warriors used to sense magical disturbances but she assumed we hadn't inherited that from the stones"

Ngadria nodded understanding.

"Otherwise she would've brought it up"

"Exactly, except....it can't be a magical disturbance we're all feeling or Nira would be reacting too....so...." Wolf rested his head on his hands and his expression grew serious "I spoke with her a bit more and we came to the conclusion....that it has something to do with the morphing grid"

Carter genuinely snickered.

"You mean the thing that makes us rangers that so far no one seems to be able to explain?"

Wolf gave him an amused chuckle.

"Yeah, that thing. Nira explained it to me a little, she says it's a self sustaining power source. It originally survived off of the power struggle between lord Zedd and Zordon but over time more powers and more rangers were connected to it allowing it to become self sustaining."

Carter nods.

"So even when the power struggle ended...."

"The grid was still functional"

"Exactly. It connects every ranger in all of time and space, holds every power that has ever been connected to it and really.... we're lucky no villain has worked out how to get into it because.... that'd be bad" Wolf sighs "but want I want to focus on right now is the 'connects every ranger part' Nira and I have a theory"
