Goldilocks was the young girls name. And she was on a mission, to find someone.
What did she know about Storybrooke? All she knew was that all the fairytale characters were cursed there. Or the majority of them anyway. And she knew that there had been two curses.
Goldilocks slowly walked through the deserted, empty streets of Storybrooke, looking at all the modern buildings, and strange looking colourful carriages with no horses. The road also looked weird. It wasn't made of dried mud and gravel like it was in The Enchanted Forest. Seriously, how crazy was this new world!?
Goldilocks stopped walking, put her hands on her hips, and looked around, after flicking away the ringlet of hair in her face.
To her left she saw a huge tower with a clock, the big hand on the three, and the like hand just passed the six.
"And what does that mean!?" Goldilocks asked out loud, but no one replied, for she had never seen a click before.
Because no one was there.
Goldilocks walked over to the tower and looked in one of the windows. Inside she managed to make out several bookcases, each one filled with all sorts of books.
"Why do you need so many?" Goldilocks whispered. She shrugged and crossed over the road. She began to look in the dark windows as she walked down the sidewalk. She reached the end of the road, and stopped outside the finally store. The light inside was on. Goldilocks saw glass cabinets filled with ornaments and little trinkets. Goldilocks looked up and saw a sign.
'Mr Gold's Pawnbroker & Antiques Dealer.'
Gold? Goldilocks was interested now. She was about to cast a spell on the door handle, but didn't want to leave a mark or sign of evidence that she had been there, so she just tried the handle, and door swung open easily.
Goldilocks entered the little store, and looked in some of the glass cases. She saw multiple objects, like little vases and dolls, and a few necklaces and bracelets in boxes with the lids open so you could see what was inside. She also saw two bedside clocks, a dinosaur skull, there was even a bike hung from the ceiling!
Goldilocks suddenly heard the sound of footsteps, and turned to see a young woman walk through the door behind the counter. The woman had brown hair and was wearing a blue dress with short sleeves, and was carrying a large book.
"Oh, hello," the woman said kindly, with an Australian accent. "I was just about to close up."
"Oh, erm," Goldilocks said. "Sorry." She pointed to the door with her thumb. "I can come back tomorrow, if you like."
"Oh don't worry about it," the woman waved her hand. "I can fit in another customer."
Goldilocks walked to the front counter. "Okay, thanks."
The woman placed the book on the side of the counter so carefully it might as well have been the most expensive jewel there ever was.
"How may I help you?" The woman asked.
Goldilocks had to force her eyes away from the ornaments and focus her attention on the woman. "Erm, I was looking for a list."
"What type of list?" The woman said, pulling out a box from under the counter. She opened it and Goldilocks saw lots of papers, rolled up with different coloured ribbon tied around each one.
"I need a list, that has all the names of everyone in The Enchanted Forest, and then their Storybrooke names next to them."
"Are you new to Storybrooke?" The woman asked as she began to rummage through the scrolls.
"Yeah," Goldilocks smiled. "Well, fairly knew. I missed both curses, due to- other circumstances."
"Are you planning on staying here long?" The woman picked up one of the papers, undid the ribbon and took a look at the writing. Realising it was the wrong paper she retied the ribbon and placed it carefully back in the box.
"Yeah, probably for a while," Goldilocks grinned, and her eyebrows narrowed.
The woman, however, didn't see and kept on rummaging through the little box. She suddenly looked up.
"You are a fairytale character, right?" She asked.
"Yeah, from The Enchanted Forest," Goldilocks nodded.
The woman sighed. "Phew. I'm Belle. What's your name?"
"Oh, erm, Georgia," Goldilocks said. "Georgia, Lockwood."
"Is that your Storybrooke name?" Belle picked out another scroll and looked at the writing. "Here." She handed it to Goldilocks.
"Thanks. Yes it is my Storybrooke name. Oh, do I need to pay you?" Goldilocks gestured to the scroll.
"No, you don't have to pay," Belle replied, waving her hand.
"Oh, thank you!" Goldilocks smiled. She turned to leave.
"Wait," Belle said. Goldilocks turned around.
"Yes?" Goldilocks asked.
"What was your Enchanted Forest name?" Belle questioned her.
Goldilocks smiled, her eyebrows narrowed once more. "Goldilocks," she replied, and left the store, closing the door behind her.
Once she was outside Goldilocks turned and hid around the corner, in case Belle suddenly decided to follow her. She leant on the wall and closed her eyes, taking a deep breath. That was close.
Goldilocks's mission was top secret, if anyone found out what was being planned...
Goldilocks unraveled the paper and scanned the list. All the names of the characters from The Enchanted Forest were on the left, and their Storybrooke names on the right.
Mary Margaret, Ruby, Archie, what kind of names were these!?
Goldilocks scanned the list, paused, confused, and then scanned the list several more times.
The person she was looking for wasn't on the list...
