The six year old Goldilocks was busily packing a small bag, for her big mission.
She had decided it was time to learn about her father, and what type of a person he had been. Her mother, Anita, didn't really like to talk about him, and Goldilocks knew not to push her mother, but she decided it was time for her to learn about the man who should have been his father.
Goldilocks knew sooner or later she would have to learn about him.
So why not now?
"Apples, water flask, blanket-" Goldilocks muttered as she looked through her bag. "-yep, I think that's everything." Goldilocks nodded, very pleased with herself.
She had fantasised for weeks now about traveling to Arendelle and learning about a magnificent man, who was strong, bold, and very brave. She had imagined her father was handsome, with light coloured hair, and smart clothing.
Goldilocks buckled up the bag and swung the strap over her shoulder. She glanced over at her mother's bed, to find it was empty, which was good.
Anita liked to wake up early to go out and buy food or presents for Goldilocks before she awoke. Goldilocks quickly wrote her mother a note and left it on the table:
-------
Momma,
I am traviling to Arendeale to lern about my Daddy. I no you do not lik talkking about him, so I will go by my self, in a boat. See you in abowt a week.
(Sory for any speling misstakes)

-------
Goldilocks opened the front door and slipped out of the kept cottage. She hurried down the little path and turned to her right. And knew the way to the docks, she had been there before with her mother, but not often, as journeys to the docks brought tearful memories to Anita.
Goldilocks took two steps before hearing someone say: "Georgia?"
Goldilocks spun around slowly, to find Anita, a basket in her hands, staring at Goldilocks, Perdita as Anita's feet, looking between the two humans.
"What are you doing up at this time!?" Anita asked. "And where do you think you are going!?"
"Erm, out?" Goldilocks suggested.
"And where are you planning on going?" Anita raised an eyebrow.
Goldilocks shrugged, not wanting to talk her mother where she was really going. "Somewhere."
Anita raised her other eyebrow, and held out her hand. Goldilocks's hand-written note flew out of the window, and landed in Anita's open palm.
"Arendelle," Goldilocks sighed. "I wanted to go to Arendelle, to find out about my Daddy."
Anita read the note and sighed sadly. She put the basket on the floor next to her and crouched down, holding out her hands. Perdita's head immediately looked inside the basket.
"Georgia, honey-"
Goldilocks walked over to her mother, and Anita pulled her daughter in a hug. "Sweetheart, I know that you want to find out about your father, but I'm afraid you can't, not just yet."
"Why?" Goldilocks asked.
"Because - mommy is still a little bit upset about what happened. She doesn't really like to talk about it." Anita often spoke in third person to Goldilocks.
"But I want to know!" Goldilocks pulled away from her mother grasp. "My Daddy died before I met him, and I barely know anything about him? Don't you think I deserve to know!?" Goldilocks stamped her foot impatiently.
Anita gave a little smile. "You might only be six years old, but you are very smart. I'll tell you what-" Anita held out her hand and beckoned Goldilocks towards her. "How about on your tenth birthday, I'll give you a story book. It will be all about your father, and we can drawer pictures together. We can even make up some stories, about what we could have done together as a family, if he was still alive."
"But it's ages until I'm ten!" Goldilocks groaned. "I'll have to wait many many many years!"
"Yes, but honey, I still think you're a little bit too young-I think ten is just the right age, don't you agree?"
Goldilocks considered this for a few long moments, before finally nodding. "Okay, on my tenth birthday I'll learn about him. You can't forget!!"
Anita laughed. "With you reminding me every day, I doubt I'll forget! Now come on." Anita stood up and held our her hand. "Let's go inside and I'll cook us some breakfast."
Goldilocks had a huge beam plastered to her face as she took her mother's hand and skipped down the path, back into the cottage, Perdita following on.
And three weeks later, Goldilocks had completely forgotten about her mother's birthday promise...
