Once Upon A Time: Goldilocks comes to Storybrooke

Chapter 19

Dr Hopper thought of a way to find out if Goldilocks was actually a fairytale character or not: Mr Gold's Pawnbroker and Antiques Dealer.

That was the shop where you would find things belonging to the fairytale characters from when they lived in the Enchanted Forest. The dwarves found their pick axes there, the Fairies found their wands there, there was even Prince Charming's sword in there!

Mr Gold was the former Rumpelstiltskin, and he used to be known as "The Dark One", as he was the greatest sorcerer who possessed dark magic. He had even taught Regina and her mother, Cora how to use dark magic! (He taught Regina long after Goldilocks's disappearance, of course). He was also very smart, knowing everything about everyone, even people he had never met! Surely he would know something about Goldilocks.

Henry had found Goldilocks on the beach, told Dr Hopper where to find her, and then the doctor offered to take her to her little store, to see if there was anything to do with her past life.

Goldilocks agreed to this idea.

Dr Hopper and Goldilocks walked into Mr Gold's shop where they saw Mr Gold with another man.

Mr Gold was fairly tall, with brown hair, and was wearing a black suit with a navy tie, and he was stood behind the counter.

The other man was also tall, but taller then Mr Gold. He had black hair with a stubble beard, and every single component of his outfit was made of leather, and his left hand was replaced with a hook.

The two men were both looking at each other, but turned their heads to the door when Dr Hopper and Goldilocks entered.

"Hello dearie," Mr Gold said, folding his arms.

The other man, Captain Killian "Hook" Jones, the Captain of the Jolly Rodger, nodded at them.

"You two aren't arguing again, are you?" Dr Hopper asked them as he made sure the door closed behind them. Rumpelstiltskin and Captain Hook had not exactly had the best relationship in The Enchanted Forest.

"Not at all," Captain Hook grumbled.

Dr Hopper turned to face Goldilocks. "Why don't you take a look around?"

Goldilocks shrugged, nodded and walked over to a glass case and looked inside.

"I'll be on my way then," Captain Hook said, but Dr Hopper asked him to stay for a few more moments.

Dr Hopper walked over to Mr Gold.

"That little girl came to Storybrooke a few days ago. She claims she is Goldilocks, and a fairytale character from The Enchanted Forest, but she isn't in Henry's book. Do you know who she is?" Dr Hopper told them.

Mr Gold and Captain Hook eyed Goldilocks, who was looking at a box full of jewellery.

"I have never seen her before," Captain Hook whispered. "Sorry, mate."

Mr Gold stared for a few moments. "Well, names are usually my stock and trade," he began. "But I believe I have never met this girl. I don't know anything about her."

"But - you're Rumpelstiltskin. You were the Dark One. You're the oldest person in Storybrooke. You know everything about everyone!" Dr Hopper said.

Mr Gold shrugged. "Do you know anything about Goldilocks?"

"She said she knew Regina -"

"Well I suggest you go see her and not pester me with your problems, Dearie," Mr Gold grumbled.

"But -" Dr Hopper leaned in closer. "Emma is worried that she might be another villain, coming to destroy Storybrooke. We need as much information as we can get. "

Mr Gold rolled his eyes. "Fine. I will have a look through some of my old work, see if I can find something about her."

Dr Hopper nodded. "Thank you."

Just then Goldilocks walked up to them.

"Did you find anything they was yours?" Dr Hopper asked her.

Goldilocks shook her head. "Nothing. But then again I didn't really have much in the first place!"

Dr Hopper nodded, his heart sinking slightly. "We'll be off then. Thank you Mr Gold, thank you, Killian."

"Err, yes. Thanks," Goldilocks said eyeing the hook worriedly, and then she and Dr Hopper left.

Captain Hook and Mr Gold stared at the door for a few moments.

"Nothing here of her past life," Captain Hook reminded them both.

Mr Gold drummed his fingers against the worktop. "Goldilocks," he repeated her name. "I'm pretty sure I've heard that name before, but where? And how come I had no idea who that little girl was?"
