Goldilocks found a bench and sat down. She closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and tried to calm down.
Her real father was dead. Of course she hadn't wanted to go back to Arendelle with him, and she would have much rather had Dr Hopper as her father, but he had died, and she still felt guilty.
She felt guilty because deep down she knew maybe she could have saved him, or figured out a way to make sure he left Storybrooke in peace. And the fact that she knew that she could have stopped his death, made her remember that she could have saved Peter Pan too.
Goldilocks ran her hands through her hair, taking a deep breath again. Just then she heard a this thud to her, which caused her to jump slightly, open her eyes and take a look.
Next to her was a young woman, about Emma's age. She had dark brown hair, and was wearing jeans and a jacket. The thud had been the woman's handbag on the bench.
"Sorry," the young woman said. "I didn't mean to scare you."
Goldilocks tried to smile. "It's okay, don't worry about it."
The young woman was rummaging through the bag. "Honestly, I need to find a better place for my phone, every time I put it in my bag, it seems to find its way to the bottom, and I can't get it out!" She said to no one in particular.
"Oh, you have a call phone too??" Goldilocks asked curiously.
"Erm, I think you mean cell phone," the young woman corrected her.
".... That's what I said," Goldilocks's eyes flickered mischievously.
The young woman laughed and sat down as she searched for her cell phone. "My name's Lily, by the way."
"Goldi-Georgia," Goldilocks quickly changed her mind.
Lily looked up. "Were you about to say Goldilocks ?" Lily asked.
"Maybe, " Goldilocks smiled slightly.
Lily laughed. "Have you been in Storybrooke since the first curse?" Lily was now uninterested in finding her phone.
"No, I've only been here a few weeks. Which fairytale character are you?" Goldilocks asked.
"I'm not in the book, but my mom is Maleficent."
"The Dragon? No way," Goldilocks said.
Lily laughed a bit more. "Yes way, but I've been living in this world since I was born."
"Ahhh, like Emma?" Goldilocks exampled.
"Yeah, me and Emma used to be friends as children, but several years passed, and we didn't speak for ages."
"You're mom's Maleficent, and as a child you were best friends with the saviour? Small world," Goldilocks commented.
"That's exactly what I think," Lily agreed. "But how come you've only been here a few weeks? What's your Enchanted Forest story? I know everyone has one."
"I'll narrow this down as much as I can for you: mom died, friends with Regina, lived with cousin, fell through a portal, went to Neverland, turned into a mermaid, went to Arendelle, fell through another portal, came to Storybrooke, got adopted, got a boyfriend, rivaled with aunt, saved cousin, real Dad - " Goldilocks suddenly stopped herself. Talking about Rodger still felt strange.
"That's one crazy list!" Lily said, before noticing Goldilocks's upset face. "Are you okay?" Lily asked.
"Yeah - just - " Goldilocks's gaze went to the floor.
"Are you sure?"
"My real dad died, a few minutes ago, actually. I - watched it happen," Goldilocks turned her head away from Lily.
"Wow, sorry, that's terrible," Lily sympathised. "I spent the majority of my life traveling from adoption centre to adoption centre - foster family to foster family - and I was on the run for ages too."
"Life can be harsh," Goldilocks faced Lily again.
"And don't I know it," Lily sighed, crossing her arms. "I'm the Anti-saviour. Everything I do seems to be a mistake."
"Anti-saviour?" Goldilocks asked. "As in, Emma's giving the happy endings, but you're taking them away?"
"No, it's - kind of a long story," Lily paused.
"I don't really care if it's a long story, I'm bored. Lay it down for me," Goldilocks smiled.
As a baby Lily had been in an egg, raised by Maleficent in dragon form. However, Snow White and Prince Charming's daughter (Emma) was at risk. Emma, being the product of true love, would either grow up to be a powerful saviour, or the evilest of villains.
Snow and Charming had been told the darkness from Emma could be transferred into another unborn child. They had heard of Maleficent's egg, and stole it. Emma's darkness was removed and placed into Lily, and then Lily, in the egg shell, was banished to the real world."That is awful," Goldilocks whispered.
"Tell me about it," Lily sighed unhappily. "Destined to a life of doom, and I hadn't even been born yet!"
"That story gives me a completely new look on heroes and villains," Goldilocks added.
"Exactly," Lily nodded.
Just then footsteps could be heard, and Goldilocks and Lily turned their heads to see Maleficent walking towards them. She was fairly tall, and wearing a black pencil skirt and a grey coat. She had blonde wavy hair.
"Lily," Maleficent said.
Lily smiled and stood up. "Hi, Mom."
Lily and Maleficent hugged.
"And who's this?" Maleficent noticed Goldilocks.
"Oh, mom, this is Goldilocks," Lily held out a hand to introduce Goldilocks. "Goldilocks this is Maleficent, my mother."
Goldilocks stood up. "Pleased to meet you."
"Same to you," Maleficent nodded. "I remember Regina telling me about you in The Enchanted Forest."
"Nothing bad, I hope," Goldilocks raised her eyebrows and smiled.
"All good," Maleficent said. "Regina said you were the best sorceress she knew."
"Sorceress!?" Lily asked Goldilocks. "If you had magic, why didn't you help me find my cell phone!?"
"You're a sorceress of light magic, aren't you?" Maleficent asked.
"Thinking about it," Goldilocks replied. "I don't really think there is a different between light and dark magic. It just depends on the person using the magic."
"Well said," Maleficent nodded her head in agreement. "But if you'll excuse us though, I came to collect Lily to take her out for dinner."
"Hey, do you want to come with us?" Lily asked.
"Erm, no I best be getting back home," Goldilocks lazily pointed at Storybrooke with her thumb. "Thanks anyway though."
"Well, see you later then," Lily smiled.
"Yeah, bye," Goldilocks nodded as Lily and Maleficent walked away, arm in arm.
Goldilocks then stuck her hand in her pockets, and walked back to Dr Hopper's apartment.
