Goldilocks was twelve years old. It was three years after she and Merida saved the town from the bear attack. She found out Regina was actually a princess, and would frequently sneak to the castle to meet her, and even show Regina some magic.
Goldilocks didn't tell Regina about Merida, in case Regina told her mother, and then the word around spread to Merida's parents, and they may take her away again, and maybe even Goldilocks! And Goldilocks didn't want to leave her mother's cottage.
But one day Goldilocks heard a knock at her door. Goldilocks stared at it for a moment, slightly puzzled. Lots of people were still looking for her, wanting to meet her, and congratulate her and Merida for saving the town. It may have also been Merida's parents, or guards from their kingdom.
Goldilocks's was home alone that day, as Merida was out walking Perdita.
Goldilocks slowly walked in that direction, and opened the door carefully. She was greeted with a young woman, who had short black hair that only reached her shoulders, but one half of her hair seemed to have little streaks of white in. She was dressed in a huge fury brown coat that covered her neck to toe, and Goldilocks could just make out one of her arms carrying what looked like a leather bag.
Goldilocks stared for a few moments, mouth open, before speaking. "May I help you?" Goldilocks asked.
"Hello darling, are you Goldilocks?" The woman asked, in an incredibly posh voice.
"Yes I am," Goldilocks replied. "Who are you?"
"Oh darling, my name is Cruella. I'm your aunt."
"...My aunt?" Goldilocks asked.
"Yes, your aunt. Your father was my brother."
"My father?" Goldilocks repeated.
"Darling, you don't have to repeat everything I say. May I come in for a moment?" Cruella asked.
Goldilocks was still bewildered about what she had just been told. She didn't move, because she was too busy staring at Cruella, so Cruella slipped past her and entered the cottage.
Goldilocks snapped back into focus. "Wait a minute!" Goldilocks closed the front door and turned to Cruella, who was looking at the fire place. "I'm sorry, but you can't just tell me your my aunt and then not give me any proof!"
Cruella turned around. "How about I tell you a bit about your father, then you'll know that I'm telling the truth. I'll start with appearance, and then move on to personality."
"I'm sorry to tell you this, but I never actually met my father, so I have no idea what he looked like," Goldilocks told Cruella. "He died in a ship wreck before I was born. Sorry."
"...Oh..." Cruella looked down for a moment and closed her eyes. Then she pulled the brown fur coat even tighter around her neck. "I'm sorry. That must have been hard for you and your mother."
Goldilocks shrugged sadly. "My mother was very distressed and upset about it. But we got along."
"Well, perhaps I'll tell you a bit about your father, and his personality. I'm sure your mother would have told you all about him." Cruella opened her eyes, and looked as if she had gotten over her brothers death pretty quickly.
"Me and my mother always told each other everything," Goldilocks said. "But she didn't say anything about an aunt."
Cruella rolled her eyes. "Your mother didn't like me too much. She said I was a bad influence on your father."
"Bad influence?"
"Yes. You see, I am - was - the oldest of us two. We were the children of the finest Baker in town. When he married my mother, as she was very wealthy, he gave up his job and lived in her huge mansion. Your father - Roger - was two years younger then I was. I was usually getting him into trouble," Cruella laughed softly at the memory. "Which would leave our mother extremely unhappy. But we didn't care too much. But one day - " Cruella closed her eyes and exchanged slowly. " - my father died."
