Goldilocks made her way home, swinging the satchel in her hand as she walked. She was very excited about visiting Regina again, even though it would be even more difficult when Queen Cora returned. But Regina was Goldilocks's best friend, and she would do whatever it took to see her friend again.
Goldilocks slipped into the forest and began to walk a few metres away from the road, just in case Cora decided to come home a day earlier than usual.
Cora, how Goldilocks hated her. The way she treated Regina was horrible, and trying to teach her daughter dark magic!? Goldilocks didn't like it at all.
Goldilocks suddenly heard a snapping noise behind her, like someone had stood on a twig, and Goldilocks froze, and anxiously looked to her left. She saw nobody. Nothing happened.
For about five seconds.
Suddenly out of the trees came a bear. It was huge and dark brown, and was growling ferociously, slashing it's claws at everything. Goldilocks stood in panic for a few moments, before finally coming to her senses.
But instead of running, the young sorceress threw her bag away from her and began to click her fingers to get the bears attention.
The bear stopped growing and turned to face Goldilocks. It studied her face for ages, as is trying to remember her from somewhere.
Goldilocks clicked a few more times, and then stopped. She slowly lowered her hand, and stared back at the bear. They locked eyes for a few moments, before Goldilocks decided to break the silence.
"I'm guessing you know who I am?" She asked.
The bear groaned, and sat down.
Goldilocks placed her hands on her hips. "No need for that attitude, and if you had any sense you'd move on, and we can forget our little meet up ever happened."
The bear growled again. Goldilocks rolled her eyes. "You better be getting back home." Goldilocks nodded at the bear, and the bear grumbled, stood up on all four's and plodded back the way it came.
Goldilocks sighed, relieved. She quickly grabbed her satchel and ran, not wanting to run into any more of them monsters. Bears were very sensitive, and they could easily detect magic from far away.
She got to her little cottage in the middle of the woods, and opened the wooden door and pushed the door open, looked backwards anxiously, and ran inside.
Her cottage was small, with her bed in one corner, and a stove and small table on the other side. Next to her bed she had one beside cabinet, where she kept her hairbrush, a small ornament of a bear that belonged to her mother, and a vase with a huge crack along one side. There were no flowers or water in the vase, but she kept it anyway.
Goldilocks threw her satchel on her bed, and leant on the wall, sighed, and slowly slid her back down the wall until she was finally sat down. She buried her face in her knees and stayed like that for several minutes.
She lived alone. She didn't mind that, but she was just worried about the bears that roamed The Enchanted Forest. Indeed, she had casted a spell that protected her home from the bears, but she was scared that one day it wouldn't work, and a bear will barge in, like one did when she was eight years old...
She straightened her legs, pushed her hair out of her face and looked up to the ceiling for a few moments, before standing up and walking outside to pick flowers.
Outside in her little garden she picked some purple and pink flowers and walked around the back of her cottage, and carefully laid the flowers on her mother's grave.
Her mother, who was called Anita, had died when Goldilocks was only eight. Goldilocks had lived all by herself, with her pet dog, Perdita the Dalmatian, ever since (and her cousin who came to live with her for a short period of time).
But Goldilocks didn't mind. She had her magic, and she had Perdita. She was protected. Nothing could harm her, and she knew that.
After laying the flowers down by the gravestone, Goldilocks ran to the nearest tree and picked up a large stick from the ground. She waved her hand around it, and green smoke surrounded the stick, shaping the wood into a figure of a small dog. Goldilocks taped the face to create two dots for eyes and ran back to her mother's grave. Goldilocks knelt down and stuck the wooden figure into the dirt, where her mother was buried underneath.
Goldilocks had created a small army of wooden animals for her mother, including bears, wolves, dogs, lions, and much more.
Goldilocks looked at the gravestone for a few minutes, in absolute silence, before going back in her home.
Once she got inside, Goldilocks began to work. She sat down by her table, and took off the necklace given to her by Regina. She waved her hand, and a small metal whistle appeared in her hand. She lightly tapped it, using her magic, causing the whistle to be silent to all except her dog. When she quickly attached it to her new necklace and placed the necklace back around her neck. She brought the whistle to her lips and blew.
Thankfully the whistle was silent. Then she waited a few moments, before finally Perdita ran into the little cottage and jumped onto Goldilocks's lap.
"Whoa, whoa, get down!" Goldilocks commanded whilst laughing, and Perdita obeyed, and sat down on the ground.
"Okay, want to practice shadow travelling?" Goldilocks asked, causing Perdita to frown and growl.
"I know you hate it," Goldilocks read the dog's mind. "But we have to practice. What if we accidentally get lost? I blow the whistle, so you can find me. Plus shadow traveling is a quicker form of transportation," Goldilocks added.
Perdita grumbled, but stood up, and Goldilocks stood up too. "I'll go outside. You stay here and I'll blow the whistle, okay?"
Perdita barked, to say she understood. Goldilocks hurried outside and stood next to a tree, and blew the whistle.
About three seconds past, before Perdita suddenly ran out of the front door and bounced over to Goldilocks.
The whistle slipped from Goldilocks's hand and hung around her neck. Goldilocks sighed.
"You were meant to shadow travel -" Goldilocks trailed off, and slapped her face into her hands.
This was going to take a lot of work.
