Aubrey rolled over to ignore Josh, she wasn't angry per say, just majorly pissed off at his attitude that he had decided to wake up with. They were both up early 6:30 so that Aubrey would be ready for school and Josh could drop her off before driving into training himself by 7:30, allowing some time to spare, that afternoon Ebony would drop Aubrey at Whitten Oval and Aubrey, Josh and Bailey were going to go to the Smith household for dinner. But the topic of conversation had caused a bit of an argument between the pair.
"You were saying just a few days ago that you'd drop anything so that you could see me play and now you're trying to tell me that you can't make it to the game this weekend even though it's here in this state not that far from where we live." Josh spoke, he was a little bit upset to be completely honest. After waking up from a little bit of sleep and not yet having his morning coffee.
"I didn't say I couldn't come Josh, you're being dramatic. All I said was that I'm not sure yet. I understand that your career is important and trust me when I tell you that it means a lot to me as well as it does to you, but mine is pretty important as well." Aubrey said, it was hard to be a partner of a footy player, constantly reduced to a simple acronym of just WAG. Where Aubrey was never just Aubrey, but always either Josh Dunkley's girlfriend or Bailey Smith's sister. It was hard, almost impossible, to feel as though you meant as much to the world when you could never simply be you. "I have meetings and tests to mark."
"These are my most important games, you could come whenever you pleased during the year but now that it means the most to me, to Bailey. You're just deciding you can't come." Josh said, he had gotten up, giving up hoping that she would turn back around and look at him and was getting ready for the day.
"I want to be there and I never said that I couldn't, I said there's a possibility, plus there's still a week and I'll be working my ass off to finish all of these things off. I'll try and push things forwards but I won't risk the results of my kids if they're not ready and don't try turn this on me by saying that I'm putting them before you or some shit." Aubrey said also getting up to get ready.
"It feels like that."
"I'll get Eb to pick me up and I'll find my own way home, I'm sure Baz won't mind picking me up to take me to mum and dads, I'll tell them you're sick or something." Aubrey said, she grabbed her clothes that she had set out the night before and rushed to the bathroom.
"Fuck." Josh pulled his hair gently, he hoped that they would get over their little spat and be fine by the end of the day, hopefully getting a bit of time to cool off would be helpful. He knew better then to change her mind straight away though.

"You okay girly?" Ebony asked as Aubrey put her bag in the car and then jumped back into the car. "I thought you guys had plans."
"I'm okay and we're okay, just wanted to spend some time with you." Aubrey said sweetly. "Oh and I wanted to get away from him for a little bit, but more so the former if you ask me."
"But nothing that I have to be insanely prepared for in terms of buying ice cream and giving you lots of hugs?" Ebony questioned. "Promise me."
"Don't you worry Eb, I know for sure that we're going to be fine I just need to let us have a moment." Aubrey assured reaching out to turn the music up. "Just out of curiosity, what colour dress should I get organised, assuming that Josh and I are still okay, for the Brownlow?"
"I don't know about colour but something fun is what I would say, not plain but not disgusting and don't you worry I'll tell you if it looks disgusting, I don't shy away from the truth. Actually nothing black or white, you can do better then that."
