The last day of term was very welcome, it was bittersweet to be leaving the class that had been taught for the year but after having had transition a couple of weeks earlier it was also very exciting to look forwards to the next year ahead. Not that Aubrey was completely sure that her future would be at the school or not, it was still a little bit up in the air as she wanted to wait until the year was done and not make a big deal of it.

"One last assembly." Ebony spoke as both of their classes walked down to the gym together, they had still managed to be kind to one another and seeing as Ebony would be moving down to prep the next year, it made it very possible that Aubrey could stay and teach. "This is going to be weird."

"It will be, but everyone is so excited to get on holidays. It kind of feels nice to see them all smile so much." Aubrey said and Ebony hummed in agreement, it was evident in the yellings that the sound of happiness was flowing through the air like the wind.

"Do you have plans for the holidays?" Ebony asked Aubrey.

"Christmas Eve I'm having at home with my family and then we're going to drive down to Yarram for Christmas day with Josh's family. After that, Josh and I as well as Adam, Kim and Georgie are flying up to Noosa. We're staying together but a few of the other boys are coming as well." Aubrey explained, it was sad that Ebony possibly would have been invited if nothing had happened, but that was just the way it worked.

"Sounds like a busy time, it'll be fun though I bet." Ebony smiled tightly.

"What about you?"

"Christmas at my cousins place I think and then my family is all taking a fun little trip to Adelaide to visit some of the other family members we have. So nothing to grand, but enough to keep us busy." Ebony said and they reached the gym where all classes were filing in for the end of year assembly, a few of those in year six were crying whilst others looked as if they were glowing, happy to finally be growing up, though they might just get a rude shock when all of the events of high school hit them.

"Sounds like you'll have a good time. I better go and check everyone in my class is here but you enjoy, yeah?" This was Aubrey's attempt at them making up, or to be more specific, letting Ebony know that she didn't completely hate her.

"You too."

"G, if you fall I'm going to be the one that gets slaughtered not Aubrey." Josh said matter of factly as he scooped her up and hugged her close. "Don't want you getting hurt, now do we."

"No, no, no." Georgie shook her head rapidly, her high voice sounding and making both Josh and Aubrey laugh. "Playground!"

"You want to go to a playground?" Aubrey questioned and Georgie confirmed as she nodded her head and walked over to Aubrey. "How about we put some shoes on and we can walk down to the park nearby?"

"Let's do that." Georgie said and waddled off to get her shoes that had been left by the front door.

"You go get your shoes on as well, I better go get some socks." Josh said and Aubrey nodded as they moved in opposite directions.

"Do you need some help with that bub?" Aubrey questioned and helped Georgie when the young girl shot a harsh glare at her shoes as if they were offending her. Something that Aubrey couldn't help but chuckle at. "There you go, we'll go as soon as Josh is ready."

"Otay." Georgie mispronounced the short word and held her hands up motioning that she wanted to be picked up, Aubrey did so and held the toddler on her hip.

"I bought you a jacket just in case." Josh said as he showed Aubrey the puffer jacket that he was holding in his arms for her. "Do you want it now?"

"Yes please." Although it looked relatively warm it was getting darker and it was better to be warm then cold. "Can you hold G while I put it on?"

"I don't think she likes that idea." Josh laughed as Georgie clinged tighter to Aubrey and he instead moved around and shelled her slip on the jacket, in a way that she didn't have to let go of Georgie, only juggle her between her arms. "There we go."

"Let's get a rattle on." Aubrey said and Josh opened the door for all of them, allowing the girls to leave first and locking it behind them. "Do you want to go on the swing Georgie?"

"Slide." Georgie replied as they started the tenish minute walk from their place to the park that they knew Georgie enjoyed having been there before when they were babysitting for Adam and Kim. When they got there Georgie was wriggling around to be let down, to which Aubrey obliged and both her and Josh were stuck chasing the toddler around the park and making sure that she was okay for about forty minutes. It was safe to say they were exhausted.

"Should we go home?" Josh asked as Georgie got comfortable in his lap. "I think someone's a bit tired."

"Yes."
