It was Monday again and Aubrey was hauling herself to school, just like every student she was struggling to make it to the end of the year. It had been such a long year and she couldn't wait to be lying on a beach somewhere with no worry in the world. She unfortunately hadn't spoken to Ebony again since they went out for lunch and she was acting strangely, by the time Aubrey had conversed with Josh the fellow teacher had vacated the building and no one knew where she was.
"Hey, I was wondering where you were." Aubrey smiled as she waked into the office that she shared with Ebony, she was already sitting at her desk drinking out of her mug what smelt like coffee to Aubrey.
"Sorry, I had to get out of there pretty quick." Ebony apologised. "Something came up, unavoidable and all that jazz."
"Are you sure you're okay?" Aubrey asked, worried about her friend who was definitely not acting like herself at all. "Please talk to me if you need to."
"I'm okay, really." Ebony smiled tightly and gathered her things up in her arms hastily. "I better go and talk to Connie." Ebony said referring to the music teacher, for what reason Aubrey was unsure but she didn't bother arguing.
"What the hell is going on?" Aubrey mumbled as she decided to ring Chloe and tell her what had just happened. "Hey babes, have you spoken to Eb lately?"
"Yeah we were texting last night, why?" Chlo asked, it was clear that she was still half asleep, or maybe half hungover depending on which way you looked at it.
"I think she's angry at me for some reason, do you think we could all come over tonight so I can trap her in a situation and we can talk." Aubrey asked.
"Friday, then it doesn't seem out of the ordinary and we can all get drunk as well. It'll be much more fun, do you think you can hold on until then?" Chloe asked, she and Pat were planning to go and seem some of his family friends on the other side of the city.
"Yeah I'll be all good." Aubrey nodded. "I better go and get ready for the day. Actually, I thought you'd be more hesitant to drink after Saturday."
"Absolutely no chance at all, I'll see you soon. Have been like a surrogate mum to all the kiddies." Chloe blew a kiss and Aubrey laughed as she heard Pat yell out his own goodbye.
"Bye, love you both." Aubrey hung up and fixed her dress that grabbed her things, leaving out the door on the left that led into her classroom as there was about fifteen minutes before class was due to start and she had to make sure that the room was in a reasonable spot, also doing her morning spider check to see if she needed to get any of her co-workers in to deal with them as there was no way in hell she would be going near one.

"What'd you do today?" Aubrey asked as she flopped down onto the couch beside Josh who was watching some basketball game, whether it was live or a replay Aubrey wasn't sure and to be honest she didn't care to find out. "Lazing around?"
"As if I would ever, I cleaned the bathroom and met up with Kyle for coffee." Josh corrected her. "How was your class?"
"Exhausting as always, but good fun." Aubrey laughed, quickly letting out a gasp as she thought back to the start of the day and started to go into a long winded explanation of something funny that one of the kids in her class had said. "Maybe you had to be there." She finished the story about five minutes later having also gone over most of the kids reactions as she went.
"I'm sure, it seemed to make you happy though." Josh chuckled finding it both amusing and adorable how she would have to stop herself when she laughed in between each sentence, he picked up her hand and kissed it gently making her smile wider. "What are the plans for the rest of the week?"
"Uh girls night at Chlo's on Friday, but other then that I don't think I have any current plans. Why's that, what did you have in mind?" Aubrey asked kicking off her shoes and wriggling around to get more comfortable.
"I was thinking that we could have a night out on Wednesday if you want." Josh suggested nonchalantly as ever. "We should also probably have dinner with your family, it's been a little while since we've done that."
"Yes and yes, we can definitely do Wednesday and I'll call mum later and see what days they have free." Aubrey nodded as she mentally reminded herself to add the events to her calendar on her phone or she was at risk of forgetting them very quickly.

Wednesday night came pretty quickly, an uneventful Tuesday ensured that it came around at a nice pace, she didn't feel like she was waiting forever for their date which always made her feel excited, though truth be told she did love to come home now that her and Josh were living together.
"You ready to go?" Josh asked, walking into the bedroom and looking over at Aubrey who was pulling some heels on. She was pretty short next to Josh and heels would help in some way. "You're going to be uncomfortable and you're going to start complaining all night."
"Oh shut up Dunkley, I'll be fine." Aubrey ignored the implied advice of her boyfriend. "Plus we can't be out too long, I do have school tomorrow and things to do."
"I know, don't worry. We'll just go out to eat and enjoy each other's company." Josh said.
"I don't think I can enjoy your company, champ." Aubrey nearly pissed herself as she fell into a fit of laughter while he just shook his head. "Sorry, you know I love you."
"Love you too, now come on lets go have some fun." Josh replied taking her hand in his own. "We have some Japanese food with our name on it."
"Yum, lets go!"
