Josh had finally asked Aubrey if she wanted to get away for the latter half of the week, the plans were so last minute that they agreed to just book a place down at Phillip Island and spend the day's at the beach as the weather looked as if it would be okay, an odd occurrence for mid June but one that was very welcomed by the couple, that wasn't technically a couple yet. Jayden, the property steward of the team as well as Marcus were going to join them and they would spend the week together.

"Are you excited baby Smith?" Marcus questioned as they all worked together to pack the car for the almost two hour drive. Hopefully that wouldn't be too long of them at each other's necks with teasing.

"I'd be more excited if you weren't here but we all have to deal with some shit things in life." Aubrey replied, though the tone in her voice made it blatantly obvious that she was joking.

"You two better not be starting with this already." Jayden warmed and the pair shared an amused look.

"Okay dad."

"I'm not your daddy, that's Josh isn't it?" Jayden said and Aubrey looked down to unsuccessfully hide her flushed cheeks.

"Shut up Jaydo." Josh rolled his eyes and pushed him not so gently. "Let's get this show on the road shall we? Who's driving first?"

"Me." Marcus said and he made his way to the drivers seat, Jayden quickly calling shotgun and moving to take his spot in the passengers side.

"I guess that just leaves us." Josh opened the door for Aubrey and she thanked him as she climbed in and moved over so that he could take the other seat.

"I spy with my little eye something beginning with..."

"Shut up." Josh groaned, cutting Marcus off mid sentence as the boy got bored only fifteen minutes into the drive. "Mate surely you can think of something else to do. Or you could just focus on your driving."

"Could do that if I wanted to, I don't."

"How about we play some bangers?" Jayden suggested, always the mediator if anything happened or any tensions were to rise.

"No offence buddy, but all of the songs you play are shit. It's bad enough that you play our music before every single game, let us have a break this week." Marcus shot back and Josh muttered in agreement. 

"Well if he can't, then I will." Aubrey connected her bluetooth before anybody could argue with her and looked through her playlist. "Guilty pleasure or what?"

"This could be dangerous."

"Not really don't worry," Aubrey laughed and pressed shuffle on her playlist to see what song would come up. As 18 by one direction started laying she sighed in content. "You don't understand how badly I wish I could play this at my wedding, but here I am at 23."

"Why do I feel like that was your goal in life for a while?" Josh laughed at the girl, taking in the way she scrunched her nose as she shot back her answer.

"Because I did, I was so let down when it didn't happen."

"Maybe in another life."

"That's bullshit."

"Let's go to the beach each, lets go get away." Aubrey sang obnoxiously through her hot jam donut. There was a place along the way that had a portable hot jam donut stand that they stopped at on the way and bought way more then they needed, well Aubrey did and she was steadily making her way through eating them because they were just that good.

"We just got here." Jayden said as he threw his body down onto the couch and let out a big yawn. "Surely we're not going there yet."

"If we don't well just hear her complain all day long." Marcus warned him and then helped him up. "We can go for like half an hour and then we should get to the supermarket so that chef Dunks can decide what we're having for dinner."

"Do I have to cook every night?" Josh complained.

"Yes." Jayden, Marcus and Aubrey said in unison after sharing a quick look between themselves. It was no secret that Josh was the best cook and he loved to do it as well, there was no reason that he shouldn't be their personal chef.

"Come on, were wasting valuable time!" Aubrey exclaimed excitedly and just like that they were on their way to the beach.
