Unfortunately for the boys they had just missed out on the finals and they were all just a little but upset that they hadn't made it and were even more upset that they had only just missed out. Josh took to lying in bed and hugging Aubrey for the days when the season ended, not that she was arguing at all. He knew better then to let it weigh him down for too long though and so by the end of the week he was back to being the cheesy idiot that Aubrey knew him as.
"Get out of my house." Kyle whined as Aubrey descended the stairs one morning, he was in the kitchen making himself pancakes. "You don't live here."
"I know you love me." Aubrey ruffled his already messy hair and stole one of the made pancakes from his stack. "Do you guys have any jam?"
"In the fridge." Kyle replied, rolling his eyes at her antics but not doing anything to stop him. He would have done exactly the same. "Chuck us the lemon stuff while you're at it."
"Can do," Aubrey chucked him the bottle and sat down at the table, rolling up her sleeves of Josh's hoodie that she was wearing. "Any plans for the day?"
"None whatsoever." Kyle replied as he finished cooking and sat down opposite the blonde girl. "How bout you?"
"I might actually go home and hang out with Bailey, although knowing him he has plans with his girlfriend." Aubrey thought and then shrugged.
"You may as well move in, you're here most days now."
"Nah, I'll just chill here whenever I feel like it." Aubrey giggled as she finished her pancake and pulled out her phone to check if she had any notifications. "I'm surprised I woke up earlier then Joshy."
"We all are." Lara laughed as she made her way through the door way and sat down. "Is he still not up?" When Aubrey shook her head, Lara made a sound of surprise. One thing that Josh was, was an early riser. Something that Aubrey evidently wasn't.
"Can't a man sleep in every now and again?" Josh said, Aubrey smiled as she noticed that his voice was still raspy from sleep. "Morning Aubs." He diverted from his path to get something to eat to make his way over to his girlfriend and kiss her cheek in greeting.
"Morning babe."
"We should take Archie for a walk." Kyle suggested as the little cavoodle started barking from outside. "You all down?"
"We leave in half an hour."

"What're the plans for the next few months seeing as you have a bit of time off?" Lara asked her brothers as the group of four were walking.
"I think Bonti and I are going to America again." Josh said as he swung his and Aubrey's hands backwards and forwards.
"Might go to like Bali or something." Kyle said. "I think Liv wants to go and we don't get to spend nearly enough time together."
"Are you doing anything fun?" Lara turned her attention to Aubrey who frowned in thought.
"Not sure, I think Bailey and a couple of the boys are heading somewhere as well so I might just focus on working and getting more money. Maybe next year I'll go back to Ireland for a little holiday." Aubrey said thinking back fondly on the time that she had spent in the foreign country as most of it had been positive. It was kind of sucky not having any plans for the holidays, normally her and Mila would have days lined up to go ahead but seeing as their friendship was more or less none existent, she didn't have anything.
"Consider my schedule open, you can show me the ropes." Josh said and winked at Aubrey.
"Marcus won't like that one bit." Aubrey reminded the boy who shrugged. "Maybe if he got a girlfriend then it wouldn't be such an issue."
"He's been trying, no one likes him."
"I know I don't." Aubrey joked and they laughed.

Aubrey had decided that after a few days in a row staying at the shared Dunkley household, it was time for her to go home and spend time with her family, which is what made her sit in the car with Josh driving so that he could drop her there.
"I need to talk to you by the way." Josh said as they pulled up in the driveway of Aubrey's family household.
"Anything bad?" She asked feeling slightly nervous, it showed through as she started to wring her fingers together.
"I hope not. It's just that I was invited to the Brownlow and I was kind of hoping that you'd be my date. It's fine if you say no or whatever." Josh spoke quickly, he too was feeling nervous. He thought that maybe she'd be too embarrassed to be seen with him at a big event like that.
"You scared me so much for that?" Aubrey giggled and kissed Josh gingerly. "It's not like you're asking me to marry you, I'd love to."
"Oh thank god, Marcus and Kyle said that you probably didn't want to." Josh smiled sheepishly.
"They're also idiots, don't let yourself feel insecure because of them." Josh nodded and kissed her again. "I'll see you soon yeah?"
"You bet, bye babe."
just imagine how stressed and nervous players are gonna get on a night grand final. they have all day to anticipate and be nervous, and whoever wins will be partying like all the way through the night (pretty sure they do that anyways regardless lmao)
