Josh brushed some of his hair out of his eyes with his hands, moving them from the previous position, which were clamped nervously in front of his body as he contemplated knocking on the door. He didn't really know why he was acting like a teenager on his first date, he just really wanted to impress Aubrey because something about her intrigued him and made him want to know more. Before he could do so Aubrey pulled open the door and waved at him as he looked at her in surprise.
"Were you waiting right behind the door?" Josh questioned with an amused smirk and Aubrey's cheeks flushed a bright red.
"No?" She questioned unconvincingly, she had been waiting for him to arrive so that nobody would open the door for him first but also because she was waiting with so much anticipation for their date.
"Sure, you ready to go?" Josh questioned and when Aubrey nodded her head he stuck his hand out but withdrew it almost immediately thinking that it may have been a little bit too forward for her liking. Aubrey simply reached down and grabbed his hand with a cheeky smile.
"Let's go."

Aubrey smiled as she breathed in the ocean air and her nerves instantly eased. Aubrey absolutely loved the beach and she had since she was a child, her and Bailey along with their parents found their way to the beach quite a lot and she had a lot of happy memories at the picturesque place. A place that truly reminded her of her own version of heaven on earth.
"I hope this isn't too cheesy." Josh spoke up as they walked through the sand together in what was previously a comfortable silence. "I didn't think you'd be a going out to dinner kind of girl."
"Don't worry Dunkley, I absolutely love the beach." Aubrey assured the boy.
"I know, I asked Mila a few things just to be sure about what to do." Josh admitted and scratched the back of her neck, a smile taking over his features as he heard her laugh in amusement.
"What would you have done if you hadn't asked her?"
"I probably would have asked Lara what to do and then disregarded all of her options." Josh shrugged his shoulders and they both found a place and sat down side by side. "I bought a few snacks." The boy added and motioned to the bag that he had carried on his way.
"Thanks." Aubrey picked up and opened the packaging that was getting in the way of her eating the boost chocolate bar.
The pair sat as the sun started to dip beneath the skyline, Aubrey had made Josh take some pictures of her but now they were simply enjoying one another's company again. Talking about pretty much anything and everything that they could think of, it was extremely refreshing to have someone that you could feel completely like yourself around and Aubrey was so incredibly grateful that she had found Josh to be that person. Something about the way that the sun set was casting shadows on Josh's features or maybe it was just the way that he had treated her that evening but as she took in his face and watched the way that his eyes lit up when he was talking about the things that he felt passionate about and all Aubrey wanted to do was kiss him and she did and her world stopped and she became desperate for more. You see the thing about books and movies is that they make the kisses seem as if they explode with fireworks but in reality Aubrey felt safe. As Josh's arms wrapped around her and pulled her closer she felt that nothing could hurt her. As her hands wrapped into his silky brunette hair she felt completely and utterly at ease, as if nothing could bring her down from the high she was on.

Josh's hand rested gently on Aubrey's thigh as she hummed along to the music that was softly playing through the radio. As she took in the whole scenario she realised how cheesy it really was, how many times had she dreamed of going on a date exactly like this?
"And we're here." Josh announced as he pulled up in the driveway of the familiar Smith household and removed the hand that was previously resting on Aubrey's thigh. He flashed her a smile but Aubrey found herself getting lost in his blue eyes. "Aubs?"
"Shit sorry." Aubrey flushed a bright red and rolled her eyes as Josh laughed at her. "Thank you for tonight, I really enjoyed myself."
"Do you think maybe we could do it again sometime?" Josh asked her innocently a toothy grin obvious on his features. "Unless you hated it, though your actions from before seems to point against that conclusion."
"I'll agree to another date if a certain someone doesn't ignore me for an extended period of time." Aubrey retorted and Josh looked down guiltily.
"Yeah sorry about that, I'll text you soon." Josh states as Aubrey opened the door to leave.
"Goodnight Aubs."
"Night Josh."
After twenty minutes that involved Aubrey getting changed and doing her skin care routine she found herself in bed and her phone flashed right before she could post a photo to instagram. A smile graced her features as she read Josh's simple but in her eyes adorable text. 'I really enjoyed tonight and can't wait to see you again soon, sleep well Aubs. miss you already x'. How did her life already completely turn around since she had gotten home.
