Aubrey hummed as Mila explained herself, the Smith girl nodded her head as she watched her best friend go round and round in her words to find a reason that was good enough to be accepted as to why she hadn't been told about the boyfriend. It was both entertaining and frustrating, entertaining watching Mila crumble under pressure. Frustrating that Mila had to do this when she could have and should have just been straight up. It wasn't like Aubrey to break apart people for her own selfish purposes, there was no need to get into the long line off Bailey's ex girlfriends that she had outwardly disliked.
"I hear where you're coming from, I just think you were thinking of yourself rather then how I would react. That's my honest opinion." Aubrey replied once Mila fell silent on the park bench.
"Maybe I was, I just really didn't want to drag you into any uncomfortable situations and I know that you're still healing because of it to this day. I really only wanted to help,"
"I'm not mad, but I would really like to meet him. Just anywhere but Whitten Oval if that can be arranged." Aubrey questioned. "I'm still processing this information and I'm not sure if being in the same room as him while I'm dealing with other things would be the best idea possible."
"We can go out for brunch or something? You can bring Baz along just in case we all need a buffer." Mila suggested.
"Wouldn't you be the buffer since you know us both?"
"Yeah, I think it would be nice for them to get closer as well as you spending more time with Bailey. You spent a lot of time with him last year when you were with Josh and I know it's only dropped slightly but you, him, Josh and Tara used to do lunch every so often," Mila reasoned.
"You've got me convinced, let me know when you're both free and I'll make sure that Baz and I are free as well. He'll probably be free whenever your special little friend is because of their schedules or whatever."
"I'll let you know, remember I love you a lot. I'll see you later Aubs." Mila got up and blew her best friend a kiss as she walked away, already getting her phone out to send her boyfriend a quick text.

Aubrey flopped onto the couch of the family home, exhausted from the relatively boring day as she waited for her dear old younger brother to get home. Sinead said that she didn't know where her son was, but that he had said he would be home by 5:30 which was only five minutes away. She busied herself by looking around at the pictures of the pair of siblings when they were younger, smiling at the bond that they had always shared.
"What're you doing here, please tell me you're not moving back in." Bailey's voice scared Aubrey to the point where she very marginally was able to stay on the couch. "Ouch." Bailey turned to glare at his girlfriend who had slapped his shoulder at the words.
"Hey Aubs, how are you?" Tara smiled and sat down behind her. "Ignore him, none of us like him that much anyway."
"I'm good thanks, Baz I need you to come to a lunch with me someday probably this week, possibly wednesday is what I'm thinking." Aubrey smiled, patting the seat on the other side of her fr her brother to sit down. "Will you pretty please do it for me?"
"Just us? What's in it for me? Or like we used to do with Josh sometimes." Bailey said the last bit a bit hushed, not sure whether he was meant to bring up the ex or not.
"Spending time with me should be enough, but no we're going with Mila and Jamarra, she said that she wanted a buffer of sorts and you're so lucky. You've been chosen, it's already awkward enough at the moment between me and Mila. Please don't be a dick and say no." Aubrey was ready to beg him to go with her, although it was Mila's idea, Aubrey liked having an escape route for if she needed one.
"Fine, but you're shouting for me." Bailey bargained, Aubrey thought in it for a second before sighing deeply but ultimately nodding. "Let me know the time and place and I'll pick you up on the way."
"Sounds good to me, since I'm here I may as well cook dinner. What do you feel like Tara?" Aubrey asked the blonde sitting beside her.
"Don't I get a choice?" Bailey questioned, sounding much more offended then he should have.
"Nope, can we have some sort of risotto?" Aubrey nodded at Tara's request and got up. "Dinner should be ready in about half an hour, go do whatever you want until then. Should I be cooking up for anyone other then the five of us?"
"One of the boys, his daughter and his girlfriend are coming over, so make a bit extra then you'd normally make if you don't mind." Bailey said, smiling innocently at his sister.
"Oooh who's coming over?"
"You'll see."
