"Buckyyyy!" You screamed through your shared flat. "What did I do this time?" Answered your bestfriend. "Oh don't act like you don't know what you did." The super soldier tried to suppress his smile.

"You know the piece of cake I was saving for later, the one I especially told you not to eat. Well it's surprisingly gone." You said with your hands on your hips. "How bizarre..." He said. "Yeah...How bizarre." You retorted.

You sighed." You're lucky I love you." You said ruffling his soft short hair. "I know you do." He smirked and you playfully rolled your eyes. "Y/n?" You hummed in response. "How about pizza tonight?" Asked Bucky.

"Buck we literally ordered some yesterday." He gave you a pleading look. "No this won't work on me-" The super soldier stepped closer to you and sighed. "But why? It's not a big deal..." He glanced at you with puppy eyes.

You pinched your lips together and your eyes widened. "Oh god no please don't look at me like that." Seeing he still had this awfully cute face you groaned. "Fiiine we're eating pizza tonight. You're such a child sometimes."

Bucky smiled proudly. "I knew my charm would work." He said taking his phone out of his pocket. You chuckled. "It doesn't seem like you have troubles with your new phone I'm proud of you." You said smiling.

"I had the best teacher." He winked at you. "I'm messing around but thank you doll, you helped me a lot with my problems..." Your lips curled up in a small smile. "No problem. After the blip things went south and I don't know what I would've done if you weren't by my side." You replied.

Bucky pulled you into his chest and you wrapped your hands around his torso, enjoying each other's company. The door ringing broke the comfortable silence. When you left his warm and comforting embrace, Bucky gently kissed your head before answering the door.

After paying for your pizzas, you both sat on the couch. "Oh by the way I need to tell you something." Said your bestfriend. "Mhm?" He looked a little nervous. "You know the other day when I went to the bar, this girl came next to me and asked me on a date."

Your heart skipped a bit. "What did you say?" You asked. "I accepted. You're the one who told me I was an old single man so I'm giving it a try." He said. "That's amazing! When is it?" You asked trying to sound happy when all you wanted to do was burst in tears.

"Tomorrow." Answered Bucky. You smiled. "I hope this goes well." You retorted before taking a bite of your pizza to avoid his gaze. "You okay y/n?" Said he looking at you. "What? Oh yeah don't worry I'm just tired."

The next day

"So how did it go?" You asked when you heard the door open. However, he didn't answer. You worriedly looked up and spotted Bucky walking into his room. "Buck what's wrong?" You said getting up from your seat.

You paused and knocked at his door. Sniffles could be heard. No response... You entered into his bedroom and saw him sitting on the floor; shaking. You immediately crouched down next to him.

"Hey...Look at me James." You placed a hand on his arm but he repulsed your contact. "Don't touch me I'm a monster!" He yelled through tears." Your heart broke. "No you're not...Bucky please look at me."

You tried to cup his face but he moved. "Stop I'll hurt you." You felt tears started to form in your eyes. "You'll never hurt me Buck..." You replied softly. You tried to touch his arm again and this time, he let you.

"I...I killed so many people. Why are you even friend with me." Said he. "Yuri, do you remember him?" You nodded. "He was at the bar. I killed his son. I killed his son and he doesn't even know it! He's friend with the man who killed his damn son!"

A tear slipped on your cheek. "It wasn't you..." You whispered. "I'm still the one who pulled the trigger y/n." He replied inaudibly. "Bucky please listen to me..." You touched his wet cheek and made him look at you.

"All these years, all these awful years, you weren't yourself. HYDRA is the real monster, you're just one of its victims... Please don't be too hard on yourself, you're a strong man. You've been through hell and still are here."

"I'm here for you Bucky, I'm always gonna be with you...I promise." The man looked at you with a pained look. "Steve made the same promise and he's gone. Who knows you're not gonna do the same."

Sobs escaped from your mouth. "I'm never gonna leave you. I would rather die than not be with you." You said in tears. Bucky looked at you. "I...I'm sorry y/n I didn't mean to hurt you. See? I made you cry, I'm a fucking monster."

You suddenly pulled him in your arms. You couldn't let him say those horrible things. His fist grabbed the hem of your shirt and he cried in your neck. "I'm sorry... I'm so sorry...Forgive me please I need you."

"Shh... Don't apologize. Breath in...and out." You said. He did as you told and started to relax. "You're doing amazing, keep breathing." You said stroking his back. After a few minutes, he stopped crying.

He pulled away and looked at you with his magnificent deep blue eyes. "Are you feeling a bit better?" You asked softly. He slowly nodded. "I love you." Said he. You faintly smiled. "Me too." He shook his head.

"No, I love you but more than a friend. I just realized I need you in my life. I need to be with you. You're the best thing I could ever imagined. I can't live without you by my side..."

Your heartbeat increased. "I feel the same way... I love you so much Buck..." You said smiling. He chuckled. "Do you mind if I kiss you?" Asked he. "I don't." You retorted. He gently cupped your face and delicately kissed you.

His pleasing scent enveloped you into a blissful atmosphere. His soft lips against yours felt like perfection, you knew how much this kiss meant. It was a promise, a promise to be always there for each other.
