You were on a mission with your girlfriend Natasha. Everything was going great, well, at least you thought so. You heard Nat's voice in your earpiece, indicating to you that enemies were coming on your way.

"Be careful they're coming!" Said Natasha.

"Don't worry I got it." You replied as you ran.

Just like Nat, you were a trained SHIELD agent. You were new on the field but were incredibly skilled. You have met Natasha since she was your trainer and you two and immediately clicked.

Being younger than her, Natasha was pretty protective over you, which is why she always made sure you were okay, and vice-versa. This was Natasha's way of showing her love towards you.

After fighting the bad guys and none of them was left. You wiped your sweaty forehead and smiled, thinking about how you were going to cuddle with your girlfriend while watching a movie after the mission.

"Are you clear?" You heard the redhead ask.

"Yup, you?" You replied.

"Done as well."

"Alright well then let's meet outside, can't wait to see-" Suddenly, heard an explosion and felt something in your stomach, followed by Natasha's worried voice.

"Hey hey hey what happened are you okay? Please talk to me and tell me where you are." Screamed Nat.

You looked around and saw the fire starting to surround you. You winced as you touched your lower body and noticed all the blood coming out.

"It's fine Nat I'll be okay, just go outside I'll be there in a second." You replied, trying to walk quickly.

"No! I need to know where you are, I need you to be safe." She retorted as you heard her voice slightly crack at the end.

"I think I'm in the third corridor on the left wing. I will be out in a few minutes." You began to cough because of the dust and kept your pace as fast as you could.

Things started to fall from the ceiling making you stop. All of a sudden, a piece of metal fell on your leg, creating a gruesome gash. "Fuck."

"Y/n you're still there? Please tell me you're almost out." Said your girlfriend.

"I had a little mishap, but hopefully I'll be there soon." You replied out of breath. Even though you were feeling more and more exhausted as seconds passed, you had one thing in mind that kept you alive: Natasha.

You saw all the blood leaking on the floor at every step you were taking and began to feel lightheaded. Fortunately, you started to see the light from outside and could see the outline of a body. Adrenaline rushed through your veins as you began to run towards Natasha.

"Nat!" You yelled, seeing her coming closer.

"Oh god y/n! Hurry up, this thing is gonna collapse at any moment now." She said as she put her arm around your waist to help you walk.

Once you were in the jet, she quickly started the engine and set it in autopilot mode. You tumbled onto a seat and tried to grab a medical kit, that's when you passed out due to the blood loss.

When you woke up, you were on a bed in a white room. You heard someone call out Natasha's name and saw her rushing into the room.

"Y/n! Never do this again you scared me so much." She said sitting on a chair.

"I'm okay now, things could have gotten worst but here I am." You joked as you tried to lighten the mood.

You realized you shouldn't have said that when you saw the look on her face.

"Y/n. You could have died there! I'm glad you made it to the Tower because you lost a lot of blood. This mission was dangerous, I shouldn't have brought you with me."

You sat up on your bed and scoffed. "Nat, I'm an agent of SHIELD, my job is dangerous but I knew it when I applied for it. I'm an adult I can take care of myself!" You replied, feeling angry tears threatening to fall.

"Of course, you can take care of yourself, but you have to be careful or shit like that happens. Don't joke around when I almost lost you because I wasn't with you." She said, facing the window.

"So I'm safe only when I'm with you? Do you even understand that you don't have to do everything? You're saying this as if you weren't trusting me nor believing I can fight." You said bitterly.

"Y/n..." She said with a sigh as she ran a hand through her hair, sitting beside you once again.

"Natasha." You said without looking at her.

"Listen, I know your value and I know that you're an amazing fighter, I never doubted about that. I just... I'm so scared."

Your anger transformed into sadness and you grabbed her hand.

"Don't be, we'll be okay." You reassured.

"I'm so scared of losing you, I've already lost a lot and I couldn't bear your loss." She whispered.

"You won't lose me and I won't lose you. I promise." You said tightening your grip on her hand. (Well, I wouldn't be so sure but let's be in denial together)

She kissed your forehead. "I love you so much y/n..."

"And I love you more."

"That's impossible."

"Whatever you say darling."
