"You could've given me an heads up"
Liv was speaking. After he had convinced her to agree to eat lunch with him, Spencer and Olivia were sitting down in a booth talking amongst each other going over today's meeting and how everything went down. They were here to talk details about the article and the interview, but Olivia had decided to bring up what had made her so upset earlier.
"Yeah, well after you told me to lose your number last night, I didn't really think that was an option anymore"
Spencer said all in one breath with his arms on the table. The waitress came by their table bringing the drinks they ordered. Olivia had ordered a lemonade sweet, iced tea (better known as an Arnold Palmer) with Spencer getting a Corona with lime.
"Fair enough but at the very least you could've found a way for Kia to deliver the information to me, she is my assistant after all"
"I understand that Olivia, and I'm sorry for the way it went down, but in my defense, my manager didn't even let me know about the meeting until we were on our way to your office"
"Hmm, your manager sounds very professional"
She mocked sarcastically grabbing her tea taking a sip and setting it back down. His eyes fell upon hers squeezing his lime before setting it in his beer and drinking some out of it.
"Oh, very very professional"
Spencer remarked rolling his eyes playfully at her while she drank her tea while looking at him smiling a little. Her eyes fell beneath before coming back up to meet his.
"Listen, all I'm saying is that, things need to be better communicated. Now I'm not saying I need to know every time you're coming to one of our meetings, but given our history, I would like to know ahead of time, so things don't become misconstrued, you feel me?"
Olivia asked him biting the side of her lip.
"Yeah, I feel you Liv" He grinned.
"Oooooh so in the meeting I was Ms. Baker but outside in the public I'm just Liv?" She furrowed her eyebrows at him referring to him using formalities with her during today's meeting.
"Yup, that's the way we keep the professional and personal separate, besides you're the one who insisted I call you that" He raised up his left brow.
"Mmmm yeah that's not how it happened sir, you started it, so I just went along with it"
She lifted her shoulders to her ears sucking out the rest of her tea with a straw loudly playing with the ice. He chuckled under his breath watching her.
"Yeah okay, whatever you say Ms. Baker" He smirked wetting his lips purposely drinking more of his beer.
"Whatever you say Mr. James"
She poked fun at him matching his smirk. They were looking into each other's eyes before quickly tearing them away with Spencer clearing his throat changing the subject.
"Anyway, again I'm sorry for not telling you I was going to be there" He was apologetic.
"Ion know what you were thinking you know I hate surprises"
"You liked my surprises" He laughed flashing a grin at her.
"No, I loved your surprises, but what happened today are the kinds of surprises I don't like so, next time, just let me know whats going on, coo?"
"Yes ma'am!"
Spencer joked speaking in a child-like voice. Liv lifted her cup from the table pointing it his way pretending to throw it on him.
