I Will Remember You

A Family

Liv and Spencer grab gifts as they walk up towards Jamina's room. She's looking at herself in the mirror admiring her beautiful princess dress.

"Hey mama's baby! Did you enjoy your birthday?" Liv put forth.

"Yes mommy it was so fun!!!" Mina chirped.

She notices Spencer standing behind Liv and she lights up.

"Hi Mr. Spencer what are you still doing here ?" Mina enquired.

"Hey Mina, I asked your mom if I could see you open your presents! I got a few for you myself too!!" Spencer mentioned.

Mina jumps up and down as she sees the presents pile up in front of her and she starts to open them one by one.

A few presents later she opens a small box labeled "from mommy."

As she opens the box her eyes grow wide as she sees a diamond necklace with her first Initial on it.

"Mommy it's so pretty! I love it! Thank you so much!" Mina piped as she admires her first piece of jewelry given to her by her mom.

"Mommy I want to put it on now with my dress." Mina spieled going to the mirror again.

"Okay baby let me get it out the box and-"

"Let me do it Liv, I got it." Spencer interrupts to have this moment with his daughter.

He undoes the clasp and gets down to Jamina's level to place the necklace ever so softly onto her neck. She smiles heavenly and melts his heart just like Liv did whenever he helped her put on her jewelry as well.

Liv is taken away by this moment. Seeing Spencer interact with Jamina is everything she needs in the midst of everything else going on.

"Alright now Mina let's see what other gifts you have." Spencer intoned.

"Okay!" Mina jarred.

She opens up some outfits for her American girl doll, a doctors play kit, a Barbie doll house, and some clothes before she gets to the last gift of the night.

The one that was about to change everything. The real reason "Mr. Spencer" stayed after.

Liv grabs the gift box nervously and hands it to Jamina. 

"Here's your last gift sweetie let's open it up and see what's inside."

Mina reads the label on the front that says "From Daddy."

"From Daddy?? Mommy did you see this ? Wait how did Daddy find us ? " Mina's questions were spewing out a mile a minute.

"Hold on speed racer, let's just open the gift first okay." Liv warned rubbing Mina's hand.

Mina starts to rip the wrapping paper and ruffles through the gift wrap to see a New York Giants Jersey with #6 on the front. She turns it over to see Jamina James on the back and at first she lights up but is then confused.

"Mommy this is the same Jersey like Mr. Spencer had on at the game." Mina inquires.

"Yep you're right Mina, I thought you might like one of your own in case you come to so more games." Spencer implies rubbing his hands together.

"But how did you know that my last name was James?" Mina pried.

"Mina come here baby and sit down next to us." Liv quests as she pats the bed.

Mina walks over to her bed and sits right in between them patiently waiting for her question to be answered.

"I knew your last name was James because it's mines too!" Spencer burst out looking Mina right in the eyes.

"Mommy did you hear that? Me and Mr. Spencer have the same last name." Mina sprouted.

"I know baby. Listen we have something to tell you okay." Liv mouthed.

Mina looks up at her mom slightly confused but yearning to hear the news.

"Mr. Spencer is actually your dad Mina." Liv broke silence as the words ooze out of her mouth.

Mina is silent for a moment before her questions start all over again.

"Mr. Spencer is my dad? Mommy why didn't you say anything? And why doesn't he live with us ? What took you so long to come find us ?" Mina was giving her mom an polite third degree.

"Look baby girl It's a long story, one that will take sometime to navigate but I am your dad and I am here now and I promise to be here for you forever okay?" Spencer rejoined with tears running down his eyes.

"You promise?" Mina hoped.

"We promise." Liv and Spencer voice at the same time.

Mina grabs both of her parents hands and puts them together and puts hers on top.

"Now we can be a real family!" Mina gabbed as her smile brightens up again.

She didn't know all the details and was still unsure but she was happy her dad was here and happy she could finally spend time with both her parents.

Liv looks at Spencer deeply as their hands are touching. They linger there for a moment as both of them have tears flowing down their eyes.

"Don't cry mommy, Daddy is here now!" Mina says as she gives Liv a hug.

Shortly thereafter, Mina hugs her dad with only the comfortability a daughter has with her father. Spencer picks her up and swings her around and she laughs as they share this moment.

A wall was finally coming down, pieces finally coming back together.

"Well, well miss lady it's time to get ready for bed okay." Liv told her child.

"Aww mannn, we'll can Mr. Spe- I mean Daddy tuck me in and read me a story ?" Mina requested.

"Is that okay Spence?" Liv searched his eyes for permission and confirmation.

"Umm sure sure I can do that." Spencer answers his daughter.

"Alright, be good for your dad and do whatever he tells you okay. I'll be downstairs cleaning up if you need me." Liv provides support for this special moment.

She heads downstairs to clean up from the party and Spencer is left alone with Mina. Their first time alone again since their play date where Mina pouring her heart out about wanting to spend time with her "daddy." Unknowing that she already did.

"Okay Daddy first we pick out PJ's"

"Okay so where are they at ?"

"They are in my drawer right here? Mommy usually picks two sets and let's me pick."

"Okay well let me go in here and see what we're working with princess."

Spencer goes in the drawer and chooses some pink pajamas and some purple pajamas and holds them up for Mina to see.

"Okay here we go which one's?"

Mina takes a minute to think it over before deciding on her outfit of choice.

"The pink one daddy, I had enough purple for one day."

"Oh you did huh?" Spencer teased as he tickles Mina.

They laugh together and then he helps her get out of her dress into her PJ's.

"Now we go into the bathroom and brush our teeth."

"Well Mina daddy doesn't have a tooth brush here but I'll pretend while you do it okay."

They head to the bathroom and Spencer places the tooth paste onto Mina's toothbrush and they casually start to talk as she brushes.

"So how did you meet mommy?"

"Hmmm, I met mommy in high school, we've known each other a long long time."

"Wow a long long time that's like infinity!"

"Not that long baby girl but I like the enthusiasm."

"Do you love mommy?" Spencer swallowed hard and his throat tightened at the mention of his love or lack thereof towards Olivia.

"Yes ......I do very much baby girl."

"Then how come you guys don't live together and how come I am just seeing you now?"

"I'm sorry....listen....Daddy didn't know about you until recently babygirl. Mommy and I lost touch for a while but now I'm here and we can do and talk about whatever you want. "

She finishes cleaning her teeth and they head back to her room. She climbs in her bed and picks up her favorite book off the shelf. Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss.

"Here daddy, this is my favorite book! Can you read it to me?"

"Sure baby girl."

"Okay you have to come closer so I can see it!"

Spencer rubs the back of his neck and he goes to sit on the bed next to where Mina is tucked in and opens the book for them both to see.

They read to one another like a call in response in a symphony.

"Do you like green eggs and ham?"

"I do not like them Sam-I-am, I do not like green eggs and ham."

Mina laughs as Spencer makes a voice as he reads to her.

"That's a funny voice daddy."

"You like it?"

"Yeah"

Before you know it they are on the last page.

"I do like green eggs and ham! Thank you! Thank you, Sam-I-am."

Mina starts to rub her eyes and as she does Spencer puts the covers up closer to her and tucks her in snug. He kissed her forehead and she goes in for a hug.

"Thank you daddy."

"You're welcome baby girl."

"Will you be back soon?"

"Yes baby, I promise." 

He blew a kiss as she turned her head to the other side, feeling the heaviness of her eyes as they drew to a close. Spencer flipped the light off, closing the door softly and lightly behind him making his way back downstairs to join Liv. She made herself scarce as she moved around the living room picking up toys and collecting the rest of the dishes that were left behind. He cleared his throat to make his presence known.

"She finally asleep?"

"Yeah, she's down, need any help with anything?"

"No, that's okay, I got it, you want a drink or something?"

"Wouldn't happen to have any henny hidden somewhere, would you?"

@NikNakDub helped me write some of the harder scenes between Mina and Spencer which majority of this chapter revolves around them. Bottom was all me though! Hope ya'll enjoy, see you tomorrow night for another one and it will be juicy, spicy, and everything in between! 💜💜
