I opened my eyes to a bright morning. I loved bright mornings, always indicated I'd have a good day.

I get up cheerfully and I pull over a white t-shirt and some jeans. I happily walk to the Curtis house and everybody is doing their usual thing.

"Why are you so happy?" Two-Bit said as I arrived, Mickey Mouse wasn't on yet.

"Today is bright day! I love bright mornings," I had a wide smile across my face as I went to the kitchen. I wasn't hungry though, so I just grabbed a glass of water.

Ponyboy was cooking his own breakfast and I watched him.

"Good morning," He said, returning a smile.

"Ponyboy, do I have something to tell you!" I remembered my great news I had saved for him.

"What is it?" He briefly looked at me and back down to his pan.

"Word got around in school-"

"School? When did you go to school?" Pony interrupted me.

"I didn't, but my friend did- now anyways, Shepard's sister has a crush on you," He blushed a little bit, he's not used to people having crushes on him.

"Oh yeah? Who told her that?" He transferred his breakfast onto a plate.

"Tim said that she can't get enough of you!" He smiled and headed to the dining room.

"Thank you," He said. I finished drinking my water and I went out into the living room and I sat down next to Johnny.

"Good morning, Johnny!" I messed up his hair a little bit and he smiled.

"Somebody's in a good mood," Darry said, walking into the living room.

I looked at him and smiled and I heard somebody run into the house. It was Dally, of course. Running from the cops again.

"Good morning!" I say to him. He looked at Darry confused.

"Why is she so happy-go-lucky?" He said as he pointed at me.

Two-Bit jumped up and started mocking me.

"Today is a bright day! I love bright mornings!" He said in a high-pitched voice and twirled around. I threw a newspaper at him and he giggled and sat back down.

Soda stumbled out of the bathroom with his DX shirt on and Steve jumped up from the floor. Darry slid on a shirt and they were bound to work. Johnny stayed and Ponyboy left for school, Two-Bit was off to god knows where and Dally stayed.

I put my arm behind Johnny and we went into a conversation about what to do.

"Gosh! We should go to the park! I love seeing the fountain," I said and Johnny nodded his head.

"Dal, you wanna come?" Johnny offered. Dally shook his head.

"You two have fun, though." He did a fake smile as I grabbed my coat. He pulled me closer to him.

"Take this," He said and handed me a note. I looked with confusion but I nodded and left.

"I dig you, go out with me?" I read as I stepped out the door. Dally'd never say it out loud, but I didn't mind. I read it and blushed. I turned around and he was standing in the door frame. I bit my lip and I nodded and he smiled. He winked and I left the house.
