A/N: modern

Dally was sitting on her bed. She was listening to music while he smoked a cigarette out her window, so her dad wouldn't smell it. She was singing along to the melody and she took the daring step of looking at her body in the mirror.

She walked up carefully and admired her body and smiled. She was so happy now, she let out a laugh of relief. She started to dance to her music and Dally smiled while watching.

"I like shiny things but I'd marry you with paper rings!" She sang out and she pointed at him and he chuckled. He put out the cigarette and watched her, happy for once.

She smiled and walked up to him and he leaned forward and they were inches away from each other before she finally closed the gap between their faces. She pulled away and went to her phone to change the song when she saw a couple notifications. She's been ghosting her friends, she knew she had to if she had to save her mental health. And it was working. She was happy.

Though she was ghosting them, she checked the group chats every once and a while but she wouldn't do anything that would show she was still active around the media. She opened one of the group chats when she got a notification after one said somebody saved something from her. She opened it to a video she had told her friend to delete multiple times, she had sent it to a group chat. She gasped and felt a stab in the heart, she knew what they were doing. They were trying to get her to answer them.

She shut her phone off and slid down the wall and he looked at her confused, confused at her sudden mood change. She let a tear fall down her cheek.

"What happened?" He asked and got up and opened her phone. He knew what the video was and turned off her phone and threw it on the bed. He sat across from her and he was fuming. He got closer to her and pushed hair behind her ears with both of his hands and held her face to look at him. "Baby, those guys are real jerks, you know that? Keep them blocked, they don't deserve you." He said and she smiled and nodded. She wiped the tear and stood up and looked at him as he looked up at her.

"Why let them ruin our fun huh?" She said and put her hand out and he took it. She started to play New Americana and tapped to the beat and when the "We are the new americana, high on legal marijuana" started to play and she started to think, she wanted weed.

She looked at him and gave him the puppy eyes and he shook his head. "I ain't getting you high darling." He said and she pouted but slid off the bed and took his hands and made him get off the bed too. She swayed their hands and he just smiled at her. "We are the new americana, high on legal marijuana! Raised on Biggie and Nirvana, we are the new americana!" She sang and he chuckled. She took his hand and twirled into him, and he wrapped his arms around her when their bodies collided. He kissed her temple and swayed while the music played. She held onto his arms and looked at him and he kissed her. He let go when the song stopped and she turned the music off and looked at him.

"You always know how to make me feel like I'm worth a million dollars." She said and he smiled. "Baby, you're worth much more than that."
