"Hold my hand." I whispered and put out my hand. He put his fingers between mine and we begun to walk down the street. He was anxious over something he refused to tell me, and I knew it'd calm him down.

"You're being real stupid right now, not telling me." I scolded and he squeezed my hand and I winced. "I love you too." I replied.

We walked down the street for three blocks before reaching the lot and finding Ponyboy and Johnny hanging out. We sat down next to them and Dally put his arm around me and I tangled our legs.

"What's the matter Dal?" Ponyboy asked, shifting in his seat. Johnny threw an empty cigarette box in the fire and looked at him. "Yeah you kinda look nervous." Johnny agreed. Dally shrugged and I looked at him. He caught my gaze and kissed me briefly and he pulled out a weed.

He lit it and we passed it before it was completely out. A cold breeze hit and Ponyboy and Johnny were freezing. I was warm and so was Dally and I felt bad. "Pony you should really go home." I said and I grabbed Dally's arm and looked at his watch. "It's nearly midnight."

"Shit, Darry's gonna have my ass. It was nice seeing you guys!" He said before running off. That boy could be a track star if he really pushed himself to do it, and quit smoking.

So, that just left Dally, Johnny, and I. Dally was getting tired and I could tell. I didn't know what to do about Johnny though, I knew he didn't want to go home. I stood up and cleared my throat and I put my hand out in front of him.

"C'mon Johnny, you're coming home with us tonight." I said and he shook his head. "It's alright, really, I got newsprint-" He started before I dragged him up. "Fine. Only if you guys don't have sex this time." He said and I started to laugh. I crossed my fingers and he nodded.

Dallas stood up and I hugged his arm and we were on our way back to my place. Johnny walked behind us the entire time and I kept looking back at him.

I heard the cry of sirens coming closer to us though, and I turned around and saw one of them slam the brakes and Dally tensed up and looked at them and he broke from me and started to run, but was cut short by a fuzz rounding the corner and he put his hands up in defeat. Johnny and I ran up to him before we were 10 feet from him and a cop ran up to him and he cuffed him. Dally was looking at me the entire time and before they brought him up, he smiled. "I'm sorry" He mouthed and I put my hand over my mouth and Johnny side-hugged me. The cop shoved him into the car and I watched as they drove away.

I looked at Johnny and shook my head. "Damn him." Is all I said, not knowing what he'd done this time.
