I checked the clock 4 times before getting up and leaving, humiliated.

Dally said he was gonna meet me at the Dingo for dinner after he got out of the cooler, but he didn't even show up. I sat there and got stood up and everybody noticed.

While I was walking down the street I ran into Ponyboy and Johnny and I tried to push past them but they wouldn't budge.

"Whoa, whoa, what happened?" Ponyboy said while holding me back.

"That bastard stood me up!" I said and I let a tear fall.

"Dally?" Johnny exclaimed.

"Mhm." I nodded and looked away so they wouldn't see me crying.

"Well, come on. We'll hang out with you." Ponyboy said and put his arm around my shoulders.

"I really appreciate it Pone-" I began but Johnny stood in front of me.

"Just come on, there's no reason why you shouldn't have fun tonight, with or without Dally." He said and I smiled at him.

"Where are we even supposed to go?" I asked as we walked down the street, Pony gripping his blade and Johnny sticking close to me, just in case some Socs pop up out of nowhere.

"I've got an idea." Ponyboy said and sent a quick smirk to Johnny. I noticed, but I didn't give it any thought.

"As long as you don't murder me." I laughed and we continued down the streets of Tulsa.

"Ponyboy, where are we going?" I said after we had been walking for an hour.

"Trust me!" He said and we arrived at a field that me and him used to go to all the time as kids.

"Isn't this the sunset field?" I asked and Pony nodded his head and we sat down in the grass.

"It sure is beautiful up here, you can see the city lights and everything." Johnny said in a quiet voice. I smiled remembering old memories.

"Do you think our old fort is still in that entry way?" Ponyboy turned to me and asked.

"I don't know, you wanna see?" I said and he nodded and we got up.

"See, Johnny, we used to come up here a lot and one time we built a pretty damn good fort over here." I explained for context and Johnny nodded.

"I doubt it's still here," Ponyboy said and he pushed away the trees and I saw rose petals and candles going down a line. As I walked down the path I looked up and saw Dally, with a black button up dress shirt, black dress pants, and black dress shoes. My breath hitched at the sight of him, so beautiful and reckless standing there. He looked up and adjusted his posture as he looked at me and smiled.

The rest of the gang gathered near Ponyboy and Johnny and Dallas stepped closer to me.

"I'm sorry for standing you up at the Dingo, and going to the cooler, but it was all to set this up." Dally started. I softly chuckled at his remarks and he took one step closer to me.

"But I hope you can forgive me, and make me the happiest I've ever been, and marry me?" He got down on one knee and opened a little leather box and a ring with a silver band and a square cut diamond front and center was sitting inside and I raised my hands to my face.

"Dally- yes!" I said and he stood up with a bright smile and he kissed me and placed the ring on my hand.

"She said yes!" He yelled with one arm raised and the other placed on my arm and the gang started cheering and he kissed me one more time.

"Is this why you were in the cooler? Because you stole this?" I asked him as the gang bounced around.

"It's my style, love." He said and I hugged him.
