I got home from work and picked up Adeline. She was already in kindergarten, I remember the time when y/n told me she was pregnant, how scared she was. We were only 18, how time flies.

"Daddy!" She said while getting into the car. She always did that when she saw me, so excited. I leaned back and kissed her head and said hello to her and left the school parking lot.

"Hey Addy, whaddya say, you and me go to the park then meet your mom at Dairy Queen and then go to the drive in tonight?" I asked her and she got excited. "Can we?" She said and I nodded and smiled. "First we gotta go home though," I said and she nodded and looked out the window.

We got home and she ran into the house and put all of her stuff down and I changed from my work clothes to my regular clothes and we went to the park. I sat on the bench and watched her play with some of the other kids on the playground.

I decided to talk to y/n, I was bored and I wanted to bug her. I called her and she almost immediately picked up.

"Hello?" She said but she didn't sound happy. "What's wrong?" I asked her and she sighed. "My boss." She said and I hummed in understanding. "What'd he do this time?" She sighed again. "Still refuses to understand the concept of I Have A Husband."

"He's a jackass. You need me to beat him up?" I asked and she giggled on the other end. "No I'm alright. How's Addy?" She asked me and I looked up at her. My jaw almost dropped. "She's- talking to a boy I'll be right back." "Dally don't ruin her fu-" I hung up and walked over to them.

"Hey Addy, who's this?" I asked her and she smiled bright. "This is my new friend Andrew!" She said and I said hi to him. "What school do you go to, Andrew?"

"Eliot," He said and I nodded, "He's in my class!" Adeline said and I smiled. "Well, nice to meet you Andrew. I'll be on the bench. We gotta get going soon, mom gets out of work in 30 minutes." I told her and she waved bye to me and I went back to the bench. I dialed her again and she answered immediately.

"Please don't tell me you beat up a six year old." She said and I chuckled. "I introduced myself to him and asked him what school he goes to, Adeline told me they're in the same class." I told her and she said 'oh'.

"Man I don't like Addy hanging around these boys," I said and she only laughed on the other end. "Oh come on Dally, she's growing up and plus what's she supposed to do with a guy at six?" She said. She's growing up.

"You're right. She's coming right now, I'll see you later. I love you." I said and Addy reached me. "I love you too honey." She said before hanging up. She grabbed my hand and we got into the car.

"I just want to tell you something," I said before we got in. "What is it?" She asked me and I smiled at her. "Boys can hurt you sometimes, so if one ever does anything to you, you run to daddy. Alright? Promise?" I asked her and she nodded and hugged me.

"Daddy, you're the only boy I need in my life." She said and I melted at that. I squeezed her tight and got into the car and immediately texted my wife.

Me: I just told her to be careful around boys and to come to me if she gets hurt, she just told me "daddy your the only boy I need in my life"
