Infuriating
DRACO MALFOY
Great, just fucking great. This is just what I need. My whole plan was to stay away from Caroline, now I'm forced to spend part of every night with her. I'm going mad. I have to be. That's the only way to explain this- this feeling I have for her. I've never felt it before. Everytime time I see her, my stomach is doing somersaults. I can't help but stare. I feel like I have to memorize every inch of her. Every freckle, her full lips, her gorgeous blueish-green eyes, her shiny ginger hair. She's perfect. Every part of her is perfect...well, almost every part. Fucking hell.
She's a Potter. A half-blood. My sworn enemy.I know my fathers rule and his pureblood mania. I know about the mark on his left arm. The mark that pledges his loyalty to man whose sole purpose is to kill Caroline and her brother. So, that's not ideal. Not to mention the years of rivalry and hatred we have. It's impossible. So why do I feel this way?
CAROLINE POTTER
"Do you ever stop eating?" Hermione asked. We all looked at Ron and he had cheeks full of food. "What? I'm hungry." he grumbled. "Leave the poor boy alone, Mione," I teased. Then Harry walked up hesitantly. "Can I join you?" he asked. We all smiled. Hermione nodded. But before he could sit down, we heard Umbridge and McGonagall arguing. We got up and ran into the hall to see them standing on the stairs. "I only ask when it comes to disciplining my students, you prescribe proper punishments. Not your medieval torture." McGonagall said. "What are they talking about?" I whispered. "Nothing," Harry whispered all too quickly. I looked at him and he refused to meet my gaze. I looked at Hermione and she gestured to Harry's hands. I looked over and my heart stopped. There were words carved into his hand. "What the hell-" I started. I grabbed his wrist and dragged him into an empty classroom. "What the fuck, Caroline?!" he shouted. "Who did that to your hand?" I asked. He sighed. "It's nothing. I'm ok." he said. "Tell me." I said. "I don't have to answer your questions." he said. He turned to leave and I drew my wand and pointed it at the door. "Colloportus" I said, just in time. The door locked no matter how hard he yanked on the handle. "Come on, C. I don't have time for this." he groaned. "Then you should tell me the truth quickly." I said. He rolled his eyes. "In detention with Umbridge. Ok? She made me use this special quill that carves whatever you write into your hand. It hurt then but I'm fine now. And McGonagall talked to her. Now, can I please go?" he asked. I sighed and walked over to him. I grabbed his hand and gently brushed my fingers over the cut. He only winced slightly. "Just please put a bandage on it. Ok?" I said. He nodded. "Promise." he said. I nodded and hugged him. Then I waved my wand and the spell broke. Then he disappeared out the door. I sighed and rubbed my temples. Today is off to a great start.
A few hours later, lessons were over and I had just finished dinner. I headed to the library to meet Malfoy and I couldn't be dreading it more. I walked in and scanned the room but I didn't see him. "Looking for someone" a dark voice said from behind me. I gasped and jumped. Malfoy passed me with a smirk. "Asshole," I mumbled. "What was that, Line?" he asked as I followed him past stacks and stacks of books. "I called you an asshole." I said louder. "I'm wounded," he said plainly. We sat down in an empty cove at the back of the library. "Why do I have the feeling you took me somewhere isolated to murder me?" I asked. "I don't want you dead, Potter. Not yet at least." he said. My stomach was doing flip flops. "This spot is closest to the Astronomy section and Madam Pince won't bug us about being quiet," he said. I just nodded as he sat down and pulled out his things. I sat next to him and pulled out the celestial map. We both looked at it and I was amazed. It was so beautiful and realistic. The way the map was charmed so the stars move as if it's the real night sky. "Are you going to pick a constellation or just gawk at it?" he snapped. I rolled my eyes. "I know you're like Mr. Ice Prince and you don't feel anything but how can you look at that and not be amazed. It's beautiful." I said. "I know," he said in a quiet voice. I looked up and he was staring at me. My cheeks burned and I looked back down. "Pick a constellation or I will." he said. I scanned the map again and pointed to one that looked like a dragon. "This one." I said. He started to laugh. "What? What's so funny?" I asked. "There are 8 planets, 400 billion stars, and 88 constellations and of all of that you picked the one constellation about me." he said with a smug grin. "What? No, it's not. It's a dragon." I said. He scoffed. "Draco is latin for dragon. Look at the name of the constellation." he said. I pulled up the magnifying glass and sure enough, he was right. "Fucking hell" I mumbled. He chuckled. "Just shut up. I'll pick a different one." I said. "No way. You picked Draco. We are doing that one." he said. "We can't. It'll be so obvious." I said. He rolled his eyes. "Whatever, pick a different one. I don't feel like arguing with you." he said. I scoffed. "You don't feel like arguing with me?" I exclaimed. He sat up and looked at me. "Yeah," he said. "You are infuriating." I said. He stared at me. "What the hell is that supposed to mean?" he asked. "You think I enjoy arguing with you. It's exhausting." I said. He furrowed his brow. "Then why do it?" he asked. "I don't start things, I just finish them." I said. He rolled his eyes again. "How very Gryffindor of you." he said. "Why do you constantly insist on doing things you know will piss me off? It's like you want my attention." I said. "Maybe I do." he said. I stared at him. "What?" I asked. He shrugged. "Why? Why me?" I asked. He chuckled. "I'll let you figure that one out. Have fun, Line." he said. Then he stood up and walked out. This is going to be a long year if he keeps this up. Absolutely impossible.
