Slytherin Party

CAROLINE POTTER

Holiday break ended yesterday and we are back at Hogwarts. It's Saturday so we don't have lessons today which means I get to spend the whole weekend with Draco. I can't wait.

I knocked on the Slytherin portrait and Blaise Zabini opened it. "Caroline Potter, to what do I owe this genuine pleasure?" he said with a smirk. I rolled my eyes. "Is Draco here?" I asked. "Yes, he's been in his dorm since he got off the train yesterday." he said. "He hasn't come out?" I asked. He shook his head. "Oh." I said softly. "Come on in, I'll take you to him," he said. I smiled. "Thank you, Blaise." I said. He nodded and I followed him inside. "Seriously? She's back?" Pansy yelled from the couch. "Oh piss off Pansy. Nobody's interested in your bullshit." Blaise yelled. Pansy scoffed and stormed away. Blaise looked at me and laughed. "Yes, I know. Shocked myself there. But now that you're dating Draco, you're under his protection. Which means I have to be nice to you." he said. "You don't have to pretend to like me, Blaise. It's fine." I said. He shrugged. "I guess you aren't so bad. Not as bad as your brother." he said. "Thanks" I said with a laugh. Then we stopped in front of Draco's dorm. "See you later." he said as he left. I nodded and took a breath. Then I knocked on Draco's door. "Whoever it is, go away," he shouted. "Draco, it's me." I said. There was a pause, footsteps, and then the door opened.
My jaw dropped and I felt sick.

He had a black eye, a split lip, a gash on his cheek and there were bruises on ribs and big red belt lashes on his back. "Bloody hell" I said under my breath. "I'm fine," he said. I pushed my way in and shut the door behind us. "What happened?" I asked. "Nothing that concerns you," he said. "Draco, tell me what happened right now." I said. "My father was disciplining me. Ok? But it's fine." he said. "Fine? This is not fine!" I said. "Just drop it." he snapped. "No. We need to go to Dumbledore. This is insane, he belongs in Azkaban." I said. Suddenly, Draco grabbed my wrists and pinned me to the door. His eyes went dark and his breath was heavy. "You will not tell anyone about this, are we clear?" he spat. "No! He hurt you! That's not how a parent-" I started. He let go and stepped back laughing. "What do you know about how parents should act? Huh? Your parents are dead!" he shouted. My face fell and my eyes watered. I felt a tear fall down my cheek and his face softened. "Line, I'm sorry. I didn't-" he started. "I might not have parents but I know that if someone does this..." I said, gesturing to his wounds, "They don't love you." I said. He sighed and sat down on his trunk. I sat next to him. "I'm sorry," he said. "I know." I replied. He wiped my cheek and moved my hair behind my ear. I gave a small smile.

"Let me heal you." I said. He nodded and I grabbed his healer's bag for quidditch. I fixed his broken ribs and cleaned the cuts. Then I applied some paste to the belt lashes and they vanished. Then I kissed him. He smiled at me and held my hand. "Why did he do it?" I asked. "Caroline, it doesn't matter." he said. "It matters to me." I said. He sighed. I knew that look in his eyes. It was a look that said I don't know how to tell you this. "It was because of me. Wasn't it?" he asked. He looked at me with sorrow and he nodded. "Draco, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I didn't mean for this to happen. I didn't think-" I started. "Hey, hey, it's ok," he said. He kissed me again and pulled me closer. "It's ok," he said. I just nodded. "There's a Slytherin party tonight to celebrate being back at school. Will you be my date?" he asked. I chuckled. "I don't know if a Slytherin party is the best choice for a Gryffindor." I said. He rolled his eyes. "Come on, it'll be fun," he said. I groaned. "Fine. Let me go back to my dorm and get ready." I said. He nodded. "I'll meet you back here at 10pm." he said. "Ok." I agreed. Then I left. As I walked out of the common room, I could see them preparing. There were drinks and decorations. It looked really cool. I've never been to a Slytherin party but I've heard they get pretty wild. I'm lucky I'll have Draco.

I got back to my dorm and Hermione and Ginny were there. I was so relieved because I need help getting ready. Hermione was petting Crookshanks and Ginny was polishing her broom.
"We have an emergency guys!" I exclaimed. "What is it?" Ginny said. "Draco invited me to a Slytherin party and I have absolutely no idea what to wear." I said. They jumped into action immediately. Ginny went to pick out a dress while Hermione did my hair. I did my makeup.Eventually Ginny pulled out a dress and flats and after a little magic, we fixed it up.

I thanked them for helping me and headed back to Slytherin. When I got there, Draco was standing outside the portrait. He looked so good in his black suit. He stared at me as I walked up to him. "What?" I asked. He smirked at me. "You look so good," he said. My cheeks burned as he kissed me. "I can't wait to take that dress off of you." he whispered. I laughed and slapped his chest. "Let's just go inside." I said. He nodded. "Pureblood" he said and the portrait opened. I rolled my eyes at him and he shrugged. "I didn't make the password," he said. I nodded. We went inside and it was crazy. "Just stay with me, Ok?" he said. I nodded and he held my hand.

This is going to be a crazy night.
