LEXI'S P.O.V.

I said bye to kids before going to garage and sitting in the Audi.

Michael and Josie are still very much ignoring me, but I'll give them space.

If it was for a different reason, I wouldn't let them just ignore me. But knowing that I neglected them past month and wasn't there for them, I'll let them cool down a little.

Mason wanted to go with me to see Nick, but I didn't let him, saying that we have something important to do.

Today, there is a meeting where we are figuring everything out to see how are we going to get Jaden back.

-

"Okay, so everyone, Joseph is officially in DR's. Tomorrow he is going to inform us if Jaden is being held in their building or somewhere else."
"Okay, so what is plan when we find his location?"
"We will make a full plan once we have a location. Because we will have a full picture of the building."
"Okay."
"But, we will prepare our weapons now. Choose who has which ones."

Once we finished up all planning we had for today I went back home.

"Kids I'm back!"

I yelled as I left my bag in the hall along with car keys.

Josie walked down the stairs with tears streaming down her face.

"What's wrong bub?"

I asked as I engulfed her in hug.

"We broke up."

She stuttered out in my chest. I sighed while running my hand through her hair.

"May I ask why?"
"I don't know. She said she wanted to break up."
"It's okay baby."
I kissed her head as I swayed us a little.

"You know what helps with break ups? Ice cream. You wanna go get one?"
"Just us?"
"Yeah."

She nodded her head while sniffling.

"Wait for me in the car, I'll go and tell boys we are going for a ride."
"Okay. But don't tell them what happened."
"I won't."

I walked upstairs and made my way to Michael's doors since I did hear sounds in there. I knocked on the doors before entering the room.

"Hey guys."
"Hey momma."
Mason waved while Michael just shot me a glare.

"I'm going with Josie for a ride somewhere, we'll be back soon."
"Okay."

I walked out and closed the doors.

"I can't believe she already forgave her."
"You are just being harsh. She said she is doing something for us."

I heard them talk before I decided to walk away.

"Where do you wanna get ice cream?"
"Wherever you want."

I let her connect to bluetooth and we listened to music she wanted while we drove.

I held one of her hands in mine while driving meanwhile she was crying.

We ordered the chocolate ice cream she wanted and then I drove us up to the hill where you can see city from.

"Jo?"
She looked at me before I engulfed her in tight hug.

"Look, I know it hurts you right now, but it'll get better. I promise you. You don't want to be in a relationship that is one sided. And after all, you are thirteen. I always told you not to get in relationships that young. It just leads to a heartbreak."
"I know. And I should've listened to you."
"It's okay baby."

We sat in silence while she ate and looked out of window.

"Mom?"
"Yeah?"
"I really missed you past month."
I sighed as more guilt filled my body.
"I know. And I missed you guys too. And I'm really sorry for my behavior. But I promise you once what I was doing the past month is over, it's gonna be so great. You guys are going to be really happy."
"But what is that something?"
"It's still early for me to tell you. But it's all gonna be done very soon."
"And what you count as very soon?"
"Well, week, maybe two. I don't even know exactly."
"Okay."
"I love you. You know that, right?"
"Yeah. I love you too mommy."

I pulled her in hug again and kissed her head as she held me tight.

"You wanna go home? We can have a movie night."
"Really?"
"Yeah."
"Okay, I'll search up a good movie."
"Okay. You wanna stop somewhere to buy food to eat when we get back home?"
"Yeah."
"Let's play some good songs because I ain't having the prettiest girl I know cry here over some relationship."

I turned up some oldies, that were my favorite songs when I was a teenager, knowing she knows them too.

"Hello."

Mason peeked out of corner once Josie and I walked inside of the house.

"Why did you cry?"
He immediately rushed up to Josie, hugging her.

"Ash broke up with me."

I heard her mumble in his shoulder as he sighed and kissed her head.

"Who needs a girlfriend anyway. We're just stupid little kids."

He pulled away trying to make her feel better. This is what I love to see. Them being there for each other. It's just so precious.

"I'll go call Mikey so we can eat while we watch a movie. Josie gets to choose which one."

I said as Mason took the food from my hands and nodded his head as both of them started leaving to the living room.

I made my way up the stairs to Michael's room, but he wasn't there. I checked all the other rooms, knowing that Mason would tell me if he was in their hang out spot or in the yard. And he was in none of them.

Lastly, I walked in my room, where I heard sniffles from my closet.

I walked in without him noticing, and sat down.

I looked at the photos he was looking at. My and Jaden's wedding.
I pulled his head in my chest as he soon started crying more, allowing himself to wrap his arms around me.

I rubbed his back and caressed his cheek as I moved back a little so my back was against the drawers.

"I'm sorry momma. I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have acted like that. I'm sorry mommy."
He sobbed out as he choked on his tears.

"It's okay baby, shh. I understand you. I'm so sorry too. You had every right to be mad. It's okay."
"No. I love you so much mom. So so much. I can't even explain it to you. That's why I was so hurt. I missed my best friend."
His voice broke few times as he talked. God, I'm such a fuck up.

"But I understand you. I know you went through so much too. We all had our fazes but you never got a chance to heal and relax at least a little because you always cared so much. And I'm sorry."

I kissed his head as I felt that feeling in my throat. That feeling when you want to cry so bad but you are stopping yourself from doing it.

But soon I gave up as tears went down my eyes too.
