chapter 39

April 13th, 2041

3RD PERSON

"Why do I have to sit here?"
"Because I told you so."
"But momm, I just wanna lay in bed."
"Is it my problem that you sneaked out?"
"Well, no, but still."
"Where the fuck is your mind Michael? And imagine something happens. You have to tell us where you are going. Did I ever tell you you can't go somewhere?"
"Well no, but like you'd let me go out at 5am. Or even earlier."
"Like you know. I'd rather let you go, if it's something normal, at 5am and know where you are than tell you you can't go somewhere and have you sneak out. I was teenager too and I sneaked out too. It's not safe Michael."
"But mom we literally just went to hill to watch sunrise."
"Yeah. And who knows what else were the reasons for your sneaking out."
"And what if I make plan at 2am. How am I supposed to ask you?"
"You just send me a text where you are going and when you will be back. Even if I'm asleep when you come back I still want to know. Maybe you're going to smoke weed and cops somehow see you and you get arrested because you're 17."
"Okay, and what if you get mad at me? Am I supposed to say 'Hi mom, I'm going out at 3am to playground to smoke, I'll be back by the time you're awake'?" Michael said in a mocking tone, making Lexi roll her eyes, as Jaden was making his way back to fall asleep because it was too early to yell at Michael. He'd just do it little later.

"I'd rather have that than not know where you were."
"I agree with your mom." Jaden finally mumbled as he nuzzled his head into Lexi's neck.

"Goddamn. Okay. I'll do that from now on, but if you ever ground me for any of that I'll just continue sneaking out without you knowing."
"I know you will."

They fell in silence for some time as Jaden was almost asleep on Lexi's chest.

"C is coming over tonight. Please just don't make any of your comments because she's already scared enough because you guys found out."
"Oo is she staying a night here?"
"No. I don't think so. But even if she does there's no sexual things involved so please just act normal."
"When did we not act normal?"
"Well, I don't know. We're gonna have a movie night in my room because today is a month since I asked her out."
"Ohh, that's cute."
"You need to clean your room." Jaden mumbled from Lexi's neck, making Michael roll his eyes.

"I know that. I was planning onto doing it."
"I'm guessing you'll order something for you two?"
"Yeah, I thought."
"Okay, just tell me what you want and I'll order you guys."
"What movie are you watching?" Lexi asked as she played with Jaden's hair.

"I-"
"Just don't to romantic ones. Most likely they'll end up having sex and she'll think you did it on purpose." Michael's face turned into a bright red color at his dad's words, making Lexi chuckle.

"No, I know, I hate romantic movies. We'll watch horror probably, because that's what we both love."
"Mhmm."
"Where are you going to watch the movie? On TV?"
"Yeah."
"Okay. I still can't believe you've hidden a girlfriend for a month."
"Well, at least you found out." Michael shrugged as he took his phone out of his pocket to text his girlfriend.

Lexi continued watching TV as she played with Jaden's hair. He was almost asleep, making Lexi catch Michael's attention.

"Will you hand me a blanket please?"
"Yeah."

He got up and grabbed a blanket from a basket and handed it to his mom.

Lexi tucked Jaden, making him open his eyes before closing them again.

Michael and Jaden fell asleep again, while Lexi was watching the TV show. She managed to get out of Jaden's grip, and grabbed one more blanket to cover Michael.

She left to the kitchen to wash two cups. Jaden didn't even drink his coffee.

After that, she let Lee out and went to laundry room.

"Why are dad and Mikey sleeping on couches?" Mason asked as he leaned on the door frame.

"You dad woke up and got in the living room but decided to sleep again, and Michael sneaked out at 5am so he is pretty tired." She answered as she continued placing clean clothes in different piles.

"You caught him?" Mason asked in shock, his eyes widening.
"You knew he was sneaking out?"
"Well, yeah. He always tells me or Jo. Did you ground him?"
"No, but we made a deal."
"What deal?"
"He'd text me or dad whenever he is going somewhere in the middle of the night and tell us where he is going and when he's coming back because I'd rather have that, than have any of you sneak out in the middle of night and don't know where you are."
"That means Jo and I can do it too?"
"No, of course not. You're twelve, Mason. You curfew is still 10pm. I didn't even have that when I was your age."
"Well mom, times change."
"Yeah, that's why your curfew is longer than mine. But still, there's no sneaking out for you and Jo."
"Damn."
"Yeah. Now, these are your clothes. Go and put them on their place. If I see them on the floor of your closet I'll beat your ass, okay?"
"Okayy." Mason laughed as his mom placed all the clothes in his hands and sent him upstairs to his room.

Time was passing fast, and it came around 5pm when Michael started to clean his room. This is first time that he is having a girl over in his room. Like, he had his siblings and cousins, but not a girl that he is attracted to.

So pretty much, this was a big deal for him as much as it was for Celia.

"Can I come in?"
"Yeahh."

Lexi walked in the room, seeing it completely clean. He even changed his bed sheets.

"Wow you managed to clean everything in hour?"
"Yeah. Is it good?"
"I've never seen this room this clean. Only when I clean it."
"I know. I gotta shower now."
"Yeah, yeah, and don't forget to brush your teeth to it smells good when you two make out." She laughed, making Michael roll his eyes while little tint of red came out on his face.

"Yeah, yeah." He closed bathroom doors as Lexi took one last look around his room before leaving it and closing the doors.

"I've never seen that room so clean." Lexi said as she walked past the living room to the kitchen, making Jaden, Mason and Josie burst out laughing.

"Again, please, just don't embarrass me." Michael said as he peaked his head in the living room before walking out of house to meet Celia.
