chapter 48

April 30th, 2041

3RD PERSON

"Mikey-"
"Can you go and wait for Nessa to arrive? She texted me that she is on her way, because mom wasn't answering her."
"Yeah."

As Jaden made his way to the doors, Lexi's eyes drifted to look at Michael who was staring at the floor and then at Celia who was on the top of the stairs.

"About things you heard- I'm really sorry. Just don't trust in what he said."
"You don't fucking know the strength that it took me not to come down when he started talking those things about you- You didn't even try to argue those words."
"There's no point of it. Who do I need to prove myself to? Psycho? No. I know that what he said is a lie, and he knows it too."
"I knew they weren't true." Michael said as he walked over to hug Lexi. Lexi motioned for Celia to come down too.

"Baby?" Nessa said as she walked in the house, making Celia immediately run up to her.

Jaden walked behind Nessa, closing the doors as he just looked at the ground.

"C'mere." Lexi pulled Jaden in a hug, kissing his cheek and shoulder.

Michael didn't know if the words Josh said about his dad were true or not. Did his dad actually kill his own father?

He wanted to get the answers, but he knew it wouldn't happen tonight.

"You have to look him in the eyes. He wants answers, but if you look him in the eyes, he'll know that you didn't do it just for fun but because you had to. Okay?" Lexi whispered, making Jaden nod his head.

She slightly pulled away and kissed his lips before looking over at Celia and Nessa.

Lexi went to hug Nessa while Jaden looked up from the floor to Michael's eyes, realizing that Michael was already looking at him.

Jaden fixed his posture before he walked over to Michael.

"We'll talk soon, okay? Just not tonight, there's already too much stuff going on. But I'll explain you everything, I promise." Jaden whispered in his ear as held the side of Michael's head.

Michael nodded his head as he felt his eyes sting, before pulling his dad in a hug.

Jaden wrapped his arms around Michael's shoulders and held him close.

Michael was quick to wipe his tears away and calm down, just so he could be a support system for Celia. He knew she needed him.

"Okay, so, what iff we order pizza? While it comes here, Celia can have a shower to wipe all that blood off and get on clean clothes and I'll clean Jaden's knuckles, yeah?"

Soon, everyone went on their ways, Michael left Celia and Nessa alone in his room, so they would be able to talk in private, and slowly made his way to his parents room. But before he walked in the bathroom, he heard their conversation so he remained quiet to get more information before he'd walk in and interrupt it.

"Sit on the tub while I take these out." Lexi said as she removed her hand off Jaden's back.

She took some rubbing alcohol and other things she needed before walking over.

"What do I fucking do now, Lex? I thought I would manage to keep it secret from them. How am I gonna explain my son that I killed my biological father because he previously raped my sisters and mom and killed my oldest sister? It's like a fucking Spanish TV show. And if Michael knows, eventually Josie and Mason would find out too. And I don't fucking want that."

"I know Jae, I know. But I also know that our kids love you endlessly. And your reason for what you did was valid. Obviously it's a little, you know, not common that kids kill their father and that their father does stuff like that, but if that didn't happen, probably none of you would stay alive that night. And if it didn't happen, you wouldn't be who you are, and we wouldn't meet, and we wouldn't have kids, so that means they wouldn't exist. And Mason and Josie don't need to find out yet. They're young. Michael isn't even that young anymore. He's turning 18 next year. I'm sure he will have enough brain cells to understand everything."

"But he already thinks I'm a fucking monster."
"No he doesn't. You just have to explain that it was either other 3 innocent people die or 1 psycho who already killed one more innocent person. Because it was that way."
"I just don't want my kids to be afraid of me. I wouldn't ever do anything to them, but protect them from maniacs like my father was."
"I know. They won't. You just have to be completely honest with him now."

"But he won't believe me."
"Maybe at first. But do you really think he wouldn't ask me about it? Plus that he wouldn't go to Amy and Addison to hear their sides of the story? And then he'd realize that you're not a monster but an actual savior. Okay?" She explained as she kissed his knuckles and held his hands in hers.

"Uh, hi." Michael finally walked in the bathroom, interrupting the conversation.

Lexi and Jaden turned their heads to look at Michael who was slowly entering the room.

"Hey."
"I, uh, I left Celia and Nessa alone so they could talk, so I, uh, just- I just didn't know where to go."
"It's okay, c'mere." Lexi motioned for him to come closer, as Michael was studying Jaden's face.

"You look like you had a fight with cat. Not a man year younger than you." Michael stated, making Lexi and Jaden chuckle.

Jaden did indeed look that way. He had little scars over his face and arms. Josh really doesn't cut his nails.

"I'll go downstairs to clean that blood on the floor."
"We are going with you too. Pizza should come soon, right?" Michael said, making Lexi turn around and nod her head.
"Yeah."

After they ate pizza, Michael and Celia went up to their room to leave Nessa, Lexi and Jaden to talk alone.

Lexi and Jaden managed to convince Nessa to stay there with them until she figures out where she wants to move. She also managed to make another bank account and transfer the money from her current one there. Because Josh also had access to her bank account and she knew he would take all the money off of it.

Celia slept with Nessa in one of the rooms, Michael was in his room, and Jaden and Lexi were obviously in their room.

And all of that happened, and they didn't even finish the discussion about moving to Madrid.
