chapter 16

March 21st, 2041

3RD PERSON

"I know I wasn't there as much for you guys. And I'm so sorry it's that way. But I promise, just give me a little more time and that something that I've been working on will be done. Okay? I promise. And it will be so good then."
"Okay. Okay, take your time. I'm sorry I acted the way I did. Now I wish I didn't. I know you wouldn't leave us if it wasn't something actually that important."
"Thank you for understanding it. I love you so much bub."

Both of them were having a mental breakdowns, but they kept talking to each other.

"Let's go down until all food is cold. We're having a movie night."
"Oh, can I choose?"
"No. Josie gets this time. That's why we are doing it. Ashley broke up with her."

You could see pure anger froming in Michael's eyes.

He won't let anyone play with his little sister. Nor brother.

"Mikey, they are young. Leave it. Better if they broke up than her falling in love with wrong person. Okay?"
"No it's not okay. No one plays with my siblings, mom."

He was quick to get up and start walking to the doors of closet but Lexi pulled his back by his wrist.

"I know, but don't make Josie have to worry if you'd confront Ashley. Okay? Just be there for her. Because we all know she isn't doing great anyway. This will just fuck things up more for her."

He sighed before nodding his head.

"Okay. Let's go watch that movie she wanted."

They walked down the stairs, making their way to the living room.

Michael flopped down beside Josie, wrapping his arms around her. She sighed as she relaxed between both of her brothers.

Lexi saw the scene that made her lips curve in a smile. She loves to see scenes like this. Her kids getting along and being there for each other.

She couldn't even imagine how happy they will be when they find out Jaden is still alive. The reactions on their faces when they see him back. Just the thought of him being there with them again made her heart race in insane speed.

"Mommy, come here."
Josie's voice filled the room that was previously silent. Lexi joined them on couch and laid beside Mason as they turned on the movie.

As expected, they all fell asleep on the couch. Lexi woke up before them all and made her way upstairs so she would shower.

After stripping down, she walked in the shower and let the water fall down her body.

She moved her hair back as she ran her fingers through it. Closing her eyes she sighed and let her body relax.

Once she was done with showering, she turned the water off and wrapped a towel around her body.

She stood in front of mirror and looked at herself. Some thoughts were running through her head, telling her that she is not pretty enough, that she is a bad mom, bad wife. How could she not realize that someone set all of that up. And all of that just for a revenge. How could someone be such an evil?

She brushed her hair and got on her clothes. She fixed her ring on her finger as she started walking downstairs to kitchen to make breakfast.

She made pancakes, knowing all of them will eat it and prepared everything on the kitchen island before going back upstairs so she would blow-dry her hair.

Once she finished she quickly ran her hands through her hair so she would apply some hair product.

She walked downstairs where kids were already sitting at the kitchen island.

"Ooh, you're here momma. We thought you left to- well, wherever you were going the past month."
"Nah, I was just drying my hair."
"Lemme make you coffee."

Josie jumped off her chair and walked to the kitchen counter.

"Oh, it's okay. You can finish your breakfast."
"No, I wanna make it."

Lexi kissed her head as she walked to Lee's bowl and poured his food in.

"Mommy?"
"Yeah?"
"Are we going to travel somewhere anytime soon?"
"I don't know. Why?"
"I really wanna travel."
"We'll see. Maybe once I'm done with... my surprise."
"Okay."

Lexi took them shopping later that day and then tomorrow morning she was supposed to go to the meeting in Nick's company.

She really hoped they found out where Jaden is.

"Can I tell tou guys something?"
Josie asked as they were all in the living room.
"Yes."
"From now on I'm going by she/they pronouns."

You could see her hands shaking as her eyes were teary. Lexi got up and hugged her, as Michael and Mason joined in hug too.

"Okay then, I'm really glad you decided to come out with that."
