chapter 17

March 23rd, 2041

LEXI'S P.O.V.

"Come onn!"
I groaned as my forehead connected with my steering wheel few times.

I am going to be late on the meeting because of traffic.

Once I made it on the road to the company, I pressed the gas more, trying to get there as fast as possible.

I parked my car before rushing to the office where meeting is.

"Hi. Sorry I'm late, traffic."
I quickly explained as I took the free seat.

"It's fine. So, Joseph. Now it's your time to shine. Don't disappoint me."
Nick said making Joseph smirk at him.

"Okay, so, I found out where they are holding him."

It's like stone fell off of my heart. I felt so relieved. I can't believe we are so close to getting him back. My heart beat increased. I felt so overwhelmed that tears started falling down my eyes.

Nick grabbed my hand as Joseph started explaining more.

"He is in one of Mads' houses. I know the exact location. He is locked in the basement of the house, I'm getting a 'shift' there on next Friday. In six days."

Nick got up and engulfed me in a hug as he pulled me off the chair.
That was enough for me to start uncontrollably crying.

My baby. My husband. My savior. We are getting him back home. I'm gonna see him in less than a week. And I swear on my life, I'll kill that fucking bitch that same day.

I never once killed someone. I never wanted blood on my hands. I never felt a courage to do it. But I'm going to do it now. Maybe I sound like a psychopath, but I don't care. Why did she even do that? Because he killed her dad? Because she could never be me? If that's why she did it, she's just so stupid. She had to kidnap him so she could have him and probably try to make a family with him because that's what she always wanted.

*flashback*
"No Madison! Get the fuck out of here!"
"Jaden please. We can live together and be a happy family. We can make kids together. You don't need her. She's too big for you anyway."
"What the fuck did you just say? Too big for me?"
"Yeah. Like, limit is 130. And she's like 200 at least."
"What the hell?!"
"With her you can't even do all poses I know you want. But with me baby, oh, you could do so much with me."
"Get the fuck out. Like, get out right now. I can't believe you would come to ANY man trying to get him by bringing someone down. And she doesn't have 200 pounds. Nor she looks like it. Even if she had she'd be perfect for me."
"But I'm perfect for you."
"Shut up. You disgust me. Now get the fuck out before you make me do things that you wouldn't like."
"Okay, Jaden. Okay. You'll realize what you are missing one day. And don't come back to me when she cracks your bones because of her weight."

I heard her voice get closer to doors and then a thump against them as she failed to open them. Dumb bitch doesn't even know to open doors.

"I'd rather die than come back to you."

Jaden said as she opened the doors.

She bumped right into me where I stood with unimpressed look on my face as my arms were crossed on my chest.

"You're so pathetic, Madison."
I chuckled as she looked at me. You could basically see the smoke going out of her ears from anger. I pushed her away and walked in office and closed the doors. What a pathetic bitch.

"Oh, hey love."
Jaden said as he turned around and looked at me. I could see how angry he was, but he was trying his best to keep his cool.

"Hey."
"Please don't tell me you heard her. Trust me none of the things she said are true."
"Oh, I don't care. I'm having a great day today so I'm not letting her ruin it."
"Okay, good."
He pulled me closer by my waist before cupping my face with one of his hands and kissing me.
*end of flashback.*

"Okay. So on Friday, we are ending this mission, right? We need the location of the house."
Hunter said as Nick and I pulled away.

"Yeah. House is on the hill, isolated from city, so that's a plus. They usually have five people around the house and then there are two inside of it. Madison spends there most of her days. I heard they put edibles in his food and put something in his water, so he is basically never sober so he can't try to run away."
"God."
I mumbled under my breath as one of the guys types something in a computer after Joseph gave him some paper.

"Okay, at least there's not many people that will make us problems."
"We could easily get them all down basically today."

Two guys added as if they were reading my mind.

"House is surrounded by electric fence. Also my fingerprint still isn't in the system. So that's why we have to wait until Friday."
