chapter 3

January 7th, 2041

LEXI'S P.O.V.

Whole day was extremely busy with doing a lot of stuff.
From making appointments, to Jackson trying to go and kill the man when he found out, to all busy parts, wanting to sue him.

I personally didn't want him to get killed. Even though I knew he'd get out just in few years because people nowadays don't care about that part. But then, after that I'll make sure for him not to die really easily.

Jackson is such a good brother.
Since we didn't allow him to leave the house, he was whole day with Eva. Like, every single second. Except when they needed to use restroom.

Tomorrow, we will be going to clinic, to do the pill method. Hopefully she has luck like I did so later on in life she can have kids like I did.

Addison, Eva and I entered the clinic. I let just Addison and Eva go inside while I was in the waiting room on my phone.

I saw Bryce calling me, so I immediately picked up, knowing that the police was supposed to go and get the guy who did all of that to Eva.

"Hey Bryce, any news?"
"Yes. I went behind them. When we arrived, he wasn't there. Now, we realized there are some cameras so we are going to try to see if we can find out if he overhead and ran away."
"Are yiu joking with me? What a fucking bastard."
"I know. I was so ready to fuck him up for that. I don't know how we'll find him."
"I don't know, hopefully cameras can show what happened."
"I know. I'm so fucking pissed I'm gonna break someone's neck and jaw I swear to God."
"I know, me too. But try calming down. Okay? For her."
"Okay, I'll try my best, but it won't work. So are you with them?"
"I let them get alone in. So I'm waiting outside currently. I needed fresh air."
"Oh, okay. Call me if anything, I gotta go now."

Black car passed by me, and I could swear on everything I saw Jaden in the car, but then snapped back to reality when Bryce constantly called my name, and car also went behind the corner.

"Lexi?! Are you okay?"
"U- uh, um, yeah. I'm fine. What did you say?"
"Nothing much, what happened?"
"Nothing, just my mind playing with me. Um, okay then, I'll call you later, okay?"
"Okay, keep me updated."
"You too."

I hung up, releasing a big sigh and placing my hand on my forehead as my other hand was on my hips.

I fucking hate this world. I hate it without him.

I walked back inside and waited for girls to come out.

Everyone was searching for that disgusting man, they even informed the borders, so he can't run away.

But he was just no where to be found.

January 14th, 2041

Days started passing by, but nothing.

The man just disappeared.

How? I don't fucking know. No one even knew we reported it.

And I just want justice for my niece.

She did nothing to deserve that.

February 8th, 2041

"Happy birthday babe."
"Happy birthday daddy."
"Happy birthday dad."
"Happy birthday daddy."

All of us said, standing in front of his grave.

Five years without the love of my life.

This is fifth birthday we are congratulating to him while he is six feet under ground.

And the fifth birthday that Michael is spending in tears.

My poor baby.

Every year he asked if we could eat the cake while being on his grave, because every year we would sing a song to him and Jaden at the same time and he loved it.

Soon, Addison and everyone else close to us came there.

We talked as if he was next to us.

I literally could feel the gaze on my back.

But every time I would turn around - nothing.

No one was there.

And obviously, why would someone be staring at my back?
But I just felt like it's him being a around us.

I don't even know.

I do know that I forgot my pills this morning.

I smoked a cigarette for him, I do it every time because he used to smoke.
Even though I despise nicotine, I did it for him.

When we finished everything there, we got back home.

I woke up in the middle of the night, actually around 3 am.

I just needed some air.

So I walked to the backyard, but I soon saw Michael laying on the ground, looking up at the sky.

"There he is."

He pointed to the star that was shining the most, separating from others.

"He's always there. C'mere baby."

I knew he was crying by the sound of his voice.

He got up, and just as I engulfed him in a hug, it was enough for him to break down and start sobbing; his grip getting tighter on me every second.
