chapter 18

March 28th, 2041

3RD PERSON

Next few days went by really fast for Lexi. She was feeling so anxious, to the point whrre she needed to take pills for anxiety few times.

She was feeling anxious about the mission. About how Jaden will be and in what state. They will probably need to put him in a facility because he was being drugged every day for five years. Even if he didn't want that, his body will fall into crisis. How will kids react? Amy? Addison? Eva and Jackson? Bryce? All of the people that they consider family?

All of those questions kept repeating in her head through the days.

And tomorrow it's finally the day. The day they're going to bring Jaden back.

Anxiously, Lexi showered and prepared her clothes for tomorrow before laying in bed to sleep.

"Fuck. Jaden!"
"What do you want?" He asked me with no care in his voice.

People are literally dying outside of this doors and we need to get out as soon as possible. And he is standing there and looking at me blankly.

"Come on, we gotta go." I tried taking his hand in mine but Madison walked in through the doors I didn't even notice until now.

"No. He's staying here." She said with her annoying voice as her arm went around Jaden's.

"Yeah. I'm staying here. If you cared so much you would've save me earlier. But Mads cared more than you. She saved me before you. And I fell in love. I mean who wouldn't? Especially that it's been five years. So you better go before someone kills you."

It felt my my heart broke again. Even more.

He's in love with her? He thinks she cares more about him than I do? What the fuck?

"Jaden what the fuck are you talking about? She didn't save you! She set up that fire so she could kidnap you! Are you out of your mind?!"

I walked closer to him but then felt sudden pain in my body. It's soon that I realized that I'm bleeding.

"Ale!" Nick yelled as he rushed in the room with gun sounds following.

"Ale! Ale! Wake up!" Nick yelled as he shook my body.

I opened my eyes, being covered in sweat. My heart was racing too fast. My hands were even shaking. It was just a dream.

"C'mon, get ready so we can go and not be late." I nodded my head as I sat up on the bed.

Fucking dream. Goddamn.

I had to shower again before getting on the clothes that I prepared.

I also grabbed the backpack with extra clothes for Jaden and I because I know we won't be able to get back home tonight. We'll need to sober him up and get doctors to check him first before we get back home.

I put my hair up in a ponytail before walking down the stairs where I found Nick sitting with Mason and watching TV.

"Okay, I'll see you soon guys. Eva said she would come over soon. Just don't make any mess."
"Okay. Love you."
"I love you too."

I kissed them, before turning around to walk with Nick to the front doors.

"Mom?!" Mason ran after me.
"Yeah?"
"Can I ask you something quickly?"
"Yeah."
"Is it finally time for our surprise?
"Yeah." I nodded my head with a smile as he smiled at me too. I blew him a kiss before sitting in car with Nick.

"How are you feeling?" He asked me as we went down the highway to company.

"Anxious. A lot. That much that I had a pill and my hands are still shaking."
"Everything's gonna be alright, okay? We're gonna get Jaden back home." He took my hand in his and kissed it, and kept holding it while he was driving.

Once we made it to the company, we went through the plan again before we all got ready and got in two van's.

I felt like I was about to pass out from anxiety. I don't know if I was ever this anxious.

After hour and half we finally made it near the house.
