The morning was peaceful today.
Dad was sleeping quietly and the horrid Mom wasn't there to drunkenly ruin our day.
THANK GOD.
I woke up, my eyes still tired and heavy but I stumbled my way into the bathroom and washed myself and did this and that...
Oh, come on. We all know you don't wanna hear about what the hell I do in the bathroom.
Well, unless you're a weirdo and want to know each and every detail of what I do...
Then I think you're really sick, man.
Anyway, I made my way into the kitchen, ate and went to school.
Basic.
Dad was sleeping even when I left.
Huh. I wonder how long he's gonna stay...
I hope he doesn't leave.
And now I'm wondering why the hell am I in school when I could've ditched??
That son of a mother wasn't there, so I could've done anything.
Aish, I'm too used into being a 'Mommy's" girl. Or slave, if you'd like to call it that.
I'm in class now, writing in my notebook when I get called to the secretary's desk.
Confused, I slowly got up without my stuff until the teacher told me that I was going home.
. Is Mom here to beat the crap out of me now? .
I take my time slowly, and slowly enter out the classroom.
Ladies and gentlemen, this may be the last time I see you.
I go down the stairs, putting my hands on the stair railing and taking my time.
I don't wanna see Mommy.
I get down anyways and go to the desk.
But the person there isn't my mom... it's my dad.
I'm so surprised that I jump into his arms again.
"Appa!" I say.
He laughs and pats me on the back.
"Hello, Mi Young- I'm here to take you," he says.
I look at him. "But... class isn't over yet," I say quietly.
He nods. "I know. I have to take you somewhere."
"Should I ask, where?..."
He smiles. "You'll see," he said.
He looks back at the secretary, who was looking in awe at him.
"Thank you for your help- goodbye~" Dad says.
The secretary cleans her foggy glasses.
"Come back anytime!" she called back flirtatiously.
Yeah, he wont' be because he doesn't like you. I don't want a 60 year old to be my step-mom.
Oh, hell no.
We go outside and I see a car waiting in the front of the school.
He tells me to get in.
I get in and sit down.
I look at the side and I see Jonghyun at the other end, looking back at me with wide eyes and furrowed eyebrows.
I look at him, expressionless and then try to open the door.
"Mi Young, what are you doing?" Dad asked, as he got into the car.
"Why's he here?" I asked.
Dad smiled. "I thought you'd like some company," he said.
"But I had another friend that might've liked to come..."
"I know, but I'm fond of Jonghyun- he's... special," Dad lingered on the last word.
I raised an eyebrow. Special? Jonghyun? Pft.
I look at Jonghyun and he's looking back at me, but then turns away.
Attitude much?
Geez.
He's probably regretting holding my hand in the snow. It's probably why he can't look at me straight.
Whatever- it's not like we're lovers anyway.
Ha- I cannot even picture us as lovers.
It's been like 20 minutes and we're still not there yet. Where are we going?
I just realized I'm skipping school with Jonghyun. Couldn't have been someone better??
My Dad was looking at us from the mirror and raised his eyebrow.
"Hm? Why aren't you guys talking to each other?" he asked.
We both didn't say anything.
He sighed. "Ah, did you guys use condoms, then?" he asked, chuckling.
Jonghyun and I looked at him and made faces of disgust.
"With her? Ew, of course not," Jonghyun scoffed.
"I don't like him like that either," I sighed.
Jonghyun looked at me with his teasing eyes. "Oh, so what kind of way do you like me?" he asked.
"I still don't like you, so don't get any ideas," I snapped.
He stuck his tongue out. I stretched my mouth and wiggled my tongue at him.
Dad chuckled.
"Oh. Such nice friends," he sighed.
Yeah, such nice friends.
"Okay- here we are!" Dad said.
And once I look out the window, I see a Ferris Wheel and automatically know where we are.
The Winter Carnival.
It is the talk of the school.
It was pretty good, too.
You see me talking like this, but my actions in the real world are really surprising...
I jump out of the car and gape at the carnival in front of me.
Everyone else gets out of the car but by the time they do, I'm running my way to the entrance.
I have my mouth opened when I see all the games and fun and food.
The food, man!
When my dad pays for the tickets, I'm jumping up and down with Jonghyun.
"I wanna play that game, first! I wanna play that game, first!" Jonghyun and I yelled as we jumped up and down.
We were both pointing at the same thing.
We both look at each other, frown and then run to the game.
In every game, Jonghyun and I were playing against each other. I won 25- he won 24.
Muahaha- I'm winning.
The last thing we went on were bumper cars.
I got into one and he did too.
By the time we started to move, Jonghyun quickly hit my car.
I glared at him.
I hit his car back.
He hit it back.
I hit back.
And the cycle goes again and again.
He hit back hard, making me come forward and hit my gut on the front. I make a face and my hair is all on my face. He laughs
"Hahahaha! You got hit hard !" he laughed.
I gritted my teeth.
I took a strong turn and went right to bash his bumper car.
This made his car jump up a little and his face was surprised as hell.
Then fear struck his face. "You..." he trailed off.
I put a finger near my mouth. "Oops- did I hit too hard?" I asked in a baby-like voice.
He glared at me. "You will pay.. you ," he growled.
"Mhm- that's what you always say but it never really happens so since I have nothing to lose-"
I hit him again, and his car and himself jumped up again and slowly went farther from me. His face was looking at me, eyes wide and mouth a little opened.
He bumped against the corner, doing nothing.
I really wish I could laugh out loud like a maniac.
Whatever, I will-
"MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!" I laughed manically.
Jonghyun looked at me like I was freaking crazy, which I was and got out of the bumper car.
"Wait, where are you going?" I asked.
He folded his arms. "If you haven't noticed, when you laughed all the people got scared and left the cars," he said.
I looked around me.
He was right- there were no people in the cars and the line of people were looking at me all afraid and scared.
Didn't I say I love it when people fear me?
I smiled to myself.
"Whatever, I was getting bored anyway," I sighed as I got off and went to go meet my Dad with Jonghyun.
We were hungry so we ordered tons of food, me eating most of it.
Jonghyun looked at me with disgust.
When I had a piece of meat in my mouth, I found at him staring at me.
"What?" I asked, mouth full of yumminess.
"I have never seen a girl that ate like a monster," he told me.
"Then you really haven't seen any decent girls," I said, putting oodles of noodles in my mouth.
He rolled his eyes.
After eating, Jonghyun said he's bring some hot chocolate for us. He glares at me after he said it, and I know why he was glaring at me.
I just smirk and go,"Bring it already so it could go down your shirt again."
He shakes his head and goes, leaving me and Dad alone.
He stares at me and smiles.
"So, Mi Young. There's a couple of things I have to talk to you about," he sighed.
Uh-oh. Not good. When he says that, I know it means what he's going to say is not good news.
He puts his hands together and sighed deeply.
"Your mother... will be furious with you once she comes back home. So, take my advice and take this-" he hands me some little bottle.
"-it's this powder that'll make your mother faint and forget what has happened the last 2 days. I know that she'll probably come home tomorrow. So, when she does, just take a tissue rub this stuff on it and put her next to her nose so she'll faint and forget," Dad explained.
I look at the bottle in my hand and then at my Dad.
Many questions were going through my head, but the thing that comes out of my mouth is-
"Is it enough to make her die?" I asked, hopefully.
He laughed and shook his head. "Oh, come on Mi Young- I am not that evil," he laughed.
But I am. Ahahahaha.
Then he sighed again. "Another thing... I have to go... today... after we come back to your house," he sighed.
I felt a pang of sadness run through me. "Why?" I asked.
"I have that whole traveling thing and photography going on. I can't stay on break forever."
"So how long was this break for you?" I asked.
"5 days, but since I was in America, it took me some time to come here. But then it took me some time to locate you. Now that I have found you... it took such a long time finding you, that I had to spend less time with you than I expected. I'm so sorry, Mi Young," he whispered.
I nodded slowly, not letting my feelings get the best of me.
I have no feelings anyway.
Everyone kept telling me that.
"You won't have any feelings- you are not like that. You love no one. No one at all. You hate everybody."
Who said it? I don't feel like saying the name...
Dad sighed. "I would like to take you with me..." he trailed off.
I looked up at this comment.
"Then, take me with you. I'll be fine. I won't get in your way of work- just take me with you. I'll be better off with you," I kept saying.
He smiled a little and laughed a little.
"Mi Young, I would like to take you... but there's someone who I think, will keep you happy," he said.
I furrowed my eyes.
"Who? Mom? Are you saying she's gonna make me happy?" I asked.
He shook his head. "Of course not. I was talking about someone else..."
I waited for the person's name. "Who...?" I asked.
He smiled. "Why, of course Kim Jonghyun! Who else?"
I look at him, my eyes gaping at him.
"Seriously?" I asked bluntly.
"You have so much fun with him, Mi Young. I know you would like to stay here because of Jonghyun though you won't admit it," he said.
I scoffed. "That guy is a retard."
"Maybe to you... but he is the only one that can make your life fun- not me."
"But... you're my appa."
"I am. But, I can never be with you for as long as he can. Like it or not- Jonghyun is the key to your happiness. You better be good friends with him or I will never be happy with you. Promise me, you will always be with him? Friends or more that that?" he asked.
I groaned. I love my dad- and he knows I do. So, he takes advantage of that love by blackmailing me about things.
He's so evil for a 40 year old.
I sighed for a long time until nodding. "But only as friends- nothing more than that," I scoffed, disgusted my dad thinks we can be more than friends.
He smiles. "I know there will be no promises for that," he chuckled.
I rolled my eyes.
Dad sighed. "Besides, I wouldn't want to lose touch with that boy- he is my future son-in-law anyways," he told me.
I almost fall out of my chair.
Jonghyun. Son-in-law. My h-h-hu-us-ba-a...
I can't say it. It's too disgusting.
Speaking of Jonghyun, he comes with the hot chocolate and looks at my face.
"What's wrong- you look... shocked and disgusted," Jonghyun pointed out.
I glance at my Dad, who was smiling at me and gesturing for me to speak.
So, I sigh and look at Jonghyun.
"We were just talking about an interesting topic," I said.
Before Jonghyun can ask, Dad gets up and claps his hand. "Alright- we should get moving. I'm sorta busy anyways. Jonghyun, we can drink the hot cocoa on the way home," he told Jonghyun.
Jonghyun nodded and I walk wit him and Dad back to the parking lot.
Goodbye Winter Carnival~
We go home, sipping the hot chocolate and not speaking to each other.
Awkward...
By the time we get at the front of my house, it's snowing.
We get out of the car and Dad sighed, looking at us smiling and sad.
"It's time to go for me," he tells us.
We both nod.
He hugs Jonghyun first.
JONGHYUN'S POV
The dad hugs me first, me feeling surprised he's hugging me when I just met him a day ago.
I feel so loved.
While he's hugging me, he whispers in my ear,"Be sure to take care of Mi Young and make her happy, son-in-law. Remember if you don't, you die."
I gulp and nod, so I don't have to die.
He pats me on the back and smiles at me one more time until going to the .
MI YOUNG'S POV
Dad hugs me and hugs me for a very long time. In my ear, he whispers,"Good luck Mi Young. I'll see you later. I love you and don't forget it. Remember to never let Jonghyun out of your life. Or I won't be happy with you anymore."
Evil Appa.
I nod to make him happy and he smiles at me one more time until really letting go of me and getting into his car.
He looks at us and winks.
"Remember what I said! Good luck and goodbye!~" he said. And he drove off.
We both stand next to each other, awkwardness passing between us.
He puts in his hands in his pockets. "So... what did he say to you?" he asked.
I shrugged. "Something crazy and weird," I answered.
He nodded. "Me too," he sighed.
And we both just stood there, awkward and letting the time pass by with the white snow falling on our heads.
