The days dragged by uncomprehendably slow for Adeline, she didn't want to admit it, however the teen felt oddly excited to visit the good side, perhaps she could finally have a good Christmas this year, one that was warm and homely and full of love. She longed to bring Draco with her, however the rational side of her knew how impossible that was.The girl was constantly running on caffeine, every night plaguing her with the terror of her own thoughts, night after night her and her lover visited the cabinet in the Room of Requirement it was taking a toll on her. Whispers flew round Hogwarts regarding the pair, each sporting the same permanent eye bags, each resembling some sort of ghost as they were permanently flushed a sheet white.
Adeline was extremely grateful to the Boy who Lived, their secret meetings provided her with a sense of escape from reality as the pair exchanged stories and laughed until the early hours of the mornings. Adeline couldn't admit this to herself at the time, however she was beginning to enjoy her hours with Harry more than she was her own boyfriend.
"Are you going to Hogsmede at the weekend?" He nervously asked her one night, it was mid-October and to most students delight, was the first Hogsmede trip of the year.
Adeline suddenly went silent, Draco had ordered her to stay behind in the castle on the coming Saturday while he went to the village to gather items to help them with their task.
"I-I don't know." Adeline shook her head, mentally hitting herself for stuttering.
"Welllll," Harry dragged out dramatically, causing Adeline to giggle quietly, "if a certain someone decides to change their mind, they'd be welcome to accompany me on a trip to the Three Broomsticks for a scorching hot glass of butter beer, my treat obviously."
"I would." Adeline smiled and trailed off, thinking of her lover, "but Draco..."
"It's not like we're snogging, Adeline," Harry laughed as the girl flushed a light pink, "it's just two friends getting a drink."
"Are you sure you want to be seen in public with me?" She laughed softly, thinking of all the strange stares the pair would get. After all, they had been at war with each other for the last six years.
"I don't see why not." Potter joked about with her, "if anything I would have thought you wouldn't want to be seen in public with me."
"It's dangerous." Adeline blurted out suddenly, body going tense and eyes wide at what she just said, the mood shifted dramatically as the joy between the pair turned dark, "it's dangerous for both me and you, if bad news sees me with you it's over for both of us."
"That's why I have these." Harry smiled mischievously as he revealed two objects to the girl, who furrowed her eyebrows in confusion, looking at the mundane cloak and blank parchment before her. She chuckled in disbelief, shaking her head.
"Is this supposed to be some kind of joke?" She laughed slightly, not sure how to handle the situation.
"I solemnly swear I am up to no good." Adeline gasped loudly as the once blank piece of parchment sprung to life, footprints wandering all over the map, she furrowed her brows again, reading the names and locations of the map.
"Is this-?"
"Hogwarts." Harry told her proudly, "shows where everyone is in the castle at any given time. Look, there's Dumbledore," he pointed to Dumbledore's office and sure enough there the headmaster was, pacing around in his office, "and there's Malfoy." Adeline's breath hitched in her throat as she watched the pair of feet labelled with Draco's name, wandering around the seventh floor, before abruptly vanishing, "Oh that's weird where'd he go?"
