Adeline Charm didn't sleep a wink that night.

Tossing and turning, the girl thought of all the possible things that could have gone wrong on Potters mission. Biting her teeth and pulling her hair, the brunette tried to put off the negative thoughts pushing through her mind, however she couldn't. The toxic thoughts were like a disease, constantly coming back to her.

Eventually, the Charm huffed, standing up from her bed, the silk pyjamas sticking to her skin like glue. She found herself outside of Draco's door, hand raised ready to knock.

"What am I doing?" She huffed, "he's probably asleep, I should just-"

"Addie?" She heard Draco's voice call out from the other side of the door, "it's 3am love, what are you doing? Come in, come to bed."

Reluctantly, she followed his orders, creaking open the large wooden dormitory door and softly closing it.

"Why are you awake?" Draco asked, although Adeline could tell by his voice the male hadn't been asleep either, "babe what's wrong? Are you crying?"

The teens lip quivered as tears rolled down her soft pale cheeks.

"Oh baby." Draco's eyes softened as Adeline walked over to him, collapsing into his outstretched arms, "tell me what's wrong."

"Potters group has gone to rescue someone from the Dark Lord tonight," Adeline paused as Draco took a sharp intake of breath at the mention of You Know Who, "I just.... I just know my dad's was there and I can't shake the feeling somethings happened to him."

"Stop worrying." Draco soothed Draco hummed as he rocked the girl back and forth, her tears soaking his shirtless skin, "you're dad is a strong man, he'll be fine."

Adeline didn't believe him.

Morning rolled around and Adeline wandered the school corridors looking like a zombie, the quick glare she sent at passers by made sure no one attempted to ask her what was wrong.

Dinner rolled around and Adeline grew nervous, she hadn't received a letter from either of her parents all day and she didn't know if that was a good or bad thing.

Entering the dining hall, Adeline gulped, feeling stares on her, people whispering as they clutched their copies of the Daily Prophet tightly. Sitting down at the Slytherin table, she felt the pitiful glances of her friends.

"What's going on?" The teen hissed, aware of their stares, "Why is everyone looking at me like that?" Adeline looked at the newspaper clutched tightly in Draco's shaking hands, reaching for it, "Draco give me that!"

"Babe," Draco's eyes widened as she snatched it from his hands, looking down at the bold title, breath hitching in her throat, "don't read-"

'HARRY POTTER MURDERS DEATH EATER MARCUS CHARM'

"What the fuck." The girl swallowed the lump in her throat, "is this some kind of joke?!"

"Adeline-" Daphnes sympathetic tone was cut off.

"I can't stay here." Adeline shook her head furiously, picking up the newspaper and standing up, "I have to go. I need to go see Professor Snape."

Quickly walking out of the Great Hall, the brunette made sure to keep her head high, no one could see her panicked shallow breathing if her head was held high right? Turning towards the dungeons, the girl froze, loosing all composure after seeing an awfully familiar face.

"You," She snarled, any trace of kindness gone, "you foul, filthy half-blood, how dare you."

The Charm didn't recognise herself as the insults spewed out of my mouth. The girl certainly didn't realise how her legs moved in instinct, propelling her forward, fist flying in the ebony haired boy's face, knocking his wide-rimmed glasses to the floor.

Adeline felt tears rolling down her face as her fist smashed back into Potters face, sending him tumbling to the floor.

"Miss Charm!"

Suddenly the girl was restrained, students holding her back as she shrieked furiously at Harry Potter, who was clutching his nose as Gryffindors crowded around him.

"YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE, YOU MURDERED MY FATHER!" She yelled, thrashing around in the strong grip of Graham Montague, "YOU SAID YOU WOULD PROTECT HIM, YOU LIAR!"

"Get her out of here!" She faintly heard Professor McGonagall yell, before she was dragged away from Potter, towards the dungeons, towards Professor Snape's office.

"What is the meaning of this!?" Professor Snape snapped as soon as Graham carried the sobbing Adeline into the classroom, immediately freezing as he took in the girl's state.

"Montague, Get Draco."

————————————

"Babe!" Draco Malfoy burst into Severus Snapes office, panic in his eyes as he gazed at his hysterical girlfriend.

"Calm her down, Draco." Snape ordered to which the boy complied and scooped the girl up into his arms, comforting her until her loud sobs turned into silent hiccups.

"He's gone." Adeline stated the obvious, voice croaky, "Potter killed him."

The room stayed silent as it anxiously waited for the teens next words. Draco felt the girl's body become stiff under his as she pulled away from him.

"I'm going to make him suffer." The girl announced angrily, an unsettling craze in her wild eyes, "I'm going to make him pay."

Snape led the now silent girl towards his fireplace, handing her a pouch of floo powder,
"You travel to Malfoy Manor." Snape instructed her, "Narcissa will help you get cleaned up."

Adeline nodded, a smirk now plastered on her face, an evil glimmer glittering in her eyes. The girl was almost unrecognisable to her previous state and it terrified Draco how quickly she could snap into a new emotion.

Terrified him.
