The year ticked by slowly, February 14th teasing the excited Hogwarts students.

"I really don't see the point in it all." Blaise told the group in disgust as he glanced at the pink decorations strung cheerfully around the great hall, "it's disgusting if you ask me."

"Well it's a good job no one asked you then." Theo sniggered, causing Adeline to snort loudly.

"I think it's cute." Adeline swooned, her and Pansy giggling as they observed new couples, "so many boys finally get the guts to ask out a girl now." Adeline shot her friend a look, tilting her head and raising her brow, "Don't they Blaise?"

"I don't know what you're talking about." The dark skinned boy laughed uncomfortably as Adeline glared at him heavily, the rest of the group looking at the pair in confusion.

"What are you on about?" Draco asked, wrapping an arm around the girl's shoulder, making sure to flash his ring at Blaise, jealous that he knew something Draco didn't.

"Are you going to tell them, Blaise?" Adeline pressed, smirking at her friend, "or shall I?"

"They don't need to know." The boy hissed, mouth sealing instantly as Daphne Greengrass entered the hall, a dopey grin plastered on her face, sitting on the other side of Adeline.

"Need to know what?" Daphne asked innocently, looking at Blaise, who had a faint tinge of pink spreading over his cheeks.

"Blaise wants to ask you something." Adeline smiled as Pansy snorted, catching onto what was going on.

"Adeline, you bi-"

"Don't call her that." Draco snapped, cutting Blaise off lowly.

"Fine." Blaise sighed, facing Daphne, nerves coating his expression, "look, Daphne, I like you a lot." Blaise gulped as Daphne's eyes widened, "Do you think you would like to go on a date with me today?"

Daphne screeched loudly, causing Adeline and the rest of the great hall to jump in fright. The brunette winced in pain as Draco pressed a hand against her ear, tapping it to see if it was still working.

"Stop it, you dip-shit." Adeline grunted, smacking Draco's hand from her ear, the boy wearing a hurt expression and jokingly cradling his hand to his chest.

"I'd love to." Daphne finally answered, wide eyed and breathless, a love-sick grin plastered onto her face.

"Were we like that?" Draco scrunched up his face as Blaise winked at Daphne, standing up from his seat and walking out of the hall.

"Yep." Pansy popped, flashing an amused glance to Daphne as the teen suddenly shot up and ran after the quickly retreating figure of Blaise, "gets a bit annoying after a while."

"You'll find someone Pansy." Adeline told her friend comfortingly, reaching her hand across the table and giving the tanner girls palm a gentle squeeze.

Pansy only frowned and looked down at the table, avoiding Adeline's gaze. The only guy she wanted was well and truly off limits for her.

"You're coming to Hogsmede with me today, right?" Draco questioned Adeline who only groaned in response, not lifting her face from the couch.

"Do we have to?" The unenthusiastic teen grumbled, looking up at Draco pleadingly, "it will be one big cluster fuck of couples."

"Babe it's Valentine's Day." Draco told her, sitting himself down beside his girlfriend.

"So?" Adeline sighed, sitting up, resting her head on Draco's shoulder, "it's all just an excuse really, isn't it?"
