The weekend flew by quicker than Adeline would have liked it to as she begrudgingly dragged her feet along towards her first lesson of her fifth year, Defence Against the Dark Arts with none other than Professor Dolores Umbridge.Joy.
"Do we have to go?" The teen moped as she dragged her feet along the corridors, the doorway which held her doom in sight.
"She can't be that bad." Daphne scoffed and glared, "I'm more fussed about having to have lessons with those Gryffindorks this year."
"Don't remind me." Pansy rolled her eyes, "I already want to throw up looking at all the red and gold ahead of us."
"Look everyone." Adeline announced, "it's our new circus attraction, Saint Potter." Potter glared at the girl heavily as Draco and his gang walked over to them, him smirking as he threw his arm around Adeline's shoulder, who flinched at the contact.
"My father said it's rude to stare at circus animals Adeline." Draco murmured dangerously to her, "but with ones like Potter it's hard not to."
The group sniggered as Potter rolled his eyes angrily and barged into the DADA classroom, his little lapdogs following behind him.
"Get off me." The brunette snapped to the blonde, removing his arm and entering the rustic classroom, hurrying towards the back and claiming one of the seats.
Draco Malfoy smirked at the opportunity that arose and sat himself down next to Adeline Charm, "Just you and me now Charm." He winked at her as she scoffed and got out her wand.
"These Gryffindors will drive me insane." Adeline muttered as she watched a girl in the front row Charm a bird to fly around the classroom, multiple people, including Crabbe and Goyle hitting it in an attempt to hit it down.
"Mudblood's and blood traitors." Draco scoffed, "you should be proud you're not one of them."
Their surprisingly civil conversation was interrupted as the bird was singed to a crisp and fell delicately from the sky onto a girl's desk.
"Good morning children." The ridiculously high voice squeaked, Adeline already knew she was going to hate this class.
Everyone froze and stared at the woman, again fully clad in pink.
"Ordinary Wizarding Level examinations. Or more commonly known as OWL's." Adeline decided she wasn't going to bother with this woman and forcefully bashed her head against the desk in front of her. Draco sniggered loudly, causing the woman to stare at them, she knew who they were, rather who their families were and decided to ignore the bad behaviour.
"Study hard and you will be rewarded. Fail to do so and the consequences will be severe." Adeline watched with a distasteful expression as the women flicked her wand, causing books to be distributed to each student.
"Your previous instruction in this subject has been disturbingly uneven, but you'll be pleased to know from now on, you'll be following a carefully structured Ministry approved course of magic."
The girl's blue eyes looked down at her book, at Umbridge, then to Draco.
"Basics for beginners?" She hissed, anger bubbling inside of her, "who does she think we are?"
"I think I read this book when I was about six!" Adeline yelled at her professor.
"Excuse me young lady?" Umbridge grew shocked, looking at the source of displeasure.
"You heard me." Adeline nodded, causing Umbridge to grow angry.
"What is your name child?" Umbridge emphasised the word 'child' causing the teens face to morph into one of fury.
