"Look at the state of that place." Adeline looked in disgust at the only bright building on the street."Why are you worrying about You-Know-Who?" Draco read the poster printed on the window, "you should be worrying about U-No-Poo."
Narcissa looked revolted at the poster while Adeline looked at it in shock, mouth gaping and eyes wide.
"They're going to get themselves murdered." The older woman muttered in disbelief, "teenagers these days."
"U-No-Poo." Adeline read again, a slight snigger making it's way out of her mouth, the two Malfoy's giving her less than impressed looks, "sorry."
"Mother, Adeline and I need to head down Knockturn Alley to find something, for-"
"How did I know you were going to ask that?" Narcissa sighed, "Fine, but I'm trusting you to keep Adeline safe, Draco."
Sternly Draco nodded, "Keep close Addie." Draco mumbled into her ear as he intertwined their hands, pulling her towards the shady alleyway.
Slinking into the narrow entrance, Adeline looked around the street to see if anyone was following the pair, smirking in satisfaction as she realised the street was clear.
"Borgin and Burkes?" Adeline asked in confusion as they stood in front of the sinister shop, "What are we doing here?"
"You'll see." Draco replied secretively, determinedly walking towards the entrance of the shop, Adeline once again checking to see if they were being watched. She frowned, seeing the empty street, not being able to shake the feeling of eyes being on her.
"Mr Borgin!" Draco yelled as he entered the shop, Adeline immediately wandering off, mingling amongst the dark artefacts that littered the room.
"Mr Malfoy." Adeline grimaced as a measly, deprived looking, older man, hobbled towards them, his back hunched over as a wild craze gleamed into his eyes, "and who is this beautiful girl you've brought along with you?"
Adeline visibly recoiled in disgust as the rotten man flashed her a skin-crawling smirk, his yellow teeth oozing grime and filth. Draco, noticing her uncomfortable state, stepped in front of the petite girl, shielding her from Borgin's prying eyes.
"She's none of your concern." Draco snapped aggressively, turning to Adeline with a softer look, "Go look around, love, anything in here may help us with the task."
Adeline nodded wordlessly, wandering off, aimlessly looking at the dangerous objects, some having the potential to kill her with just a single touch.
"So this is the cabinet." Draco commented, admiring the large wooden build, noticing the Latin inscribed in the base, "qui velit, non est inventus?" The boy mumbled in confusion.
"He who wants not to be found." Adeline mumbled, tearing her eyes away from a pretty looking ring and instead facing the large mahogany cabinet, "Draco, what is this?"
"It's a vanishing cabinet, love," the blonde explained, reaching out a hand and placing it against the hard wood, "there's a twin at-"
"Hogwarts," Adeline clicked on, eyes widening in realisation, "Draco you're a genius."
"I'll explain the full plan when we get home," Draco told her, causing the girl to nod, attention drifting, "it's broken isn't it? Do you know how to fix it?"
"Possibly." Borgin replied, displaying no tone suggesting he was willing to help, "I'll need to see the other, why don't you bring it to the shop?"
"I can't." Draco shook his head in frustration as Adeline's eyes widened, her blue gaze landing on a beautiful necklace, "it's got to stay put, I just need you to tell me how to fix it, I need a set of instructions if you will."
Adeline's hand reached towards the brilliant ruby necklace, eyes sparking with desire to feel the brilliance of the gem.
"Don't touch that!" Borgin's voice cried out, causing the girl to jump and automatically pull her hand away, "it's beautiful isn't it?" The teen nodded, "beautiful but deadly, one touch and you're gone."
Draco and Adeline shot each other concerned looks, fearful her life could have been over with one tiny touch out of curiosity.
"Anyways, Mr Malfoy, without seeing it, I must say it will be a very difficult job," Adeline turned her full attention to the conversation, arms crossing in annoyance as she glared at the unwilling man, "it could perhaps be impossible, I simply cannot guarantee anything."
"No?" Draco sneered, waking towards Borgin, "perhaps this will make you more confident."
Suddenly, the teenage boy was lifting up his left sleeve, proudly displaying the black ink etched into his arm, the snake slithering around the skull, twisting and turning around itself. Adeline felt a strong surge of power as Borgin's face morphed into one of utter horror as his gaze stayed captivated by the Dark Mark.
"You tell anyone," Draco threatened, "and there will be retribution. You know Fenrir Greyback? He'll be dropping in from time to time to make sure you're giving this 'problem' your full and undivided attention."
"I assume Bella will be popping in too." Adeline added, "she likes to get involved, I'm sure you've seen her posters around. You don't want to be on her bad side Borgin."
"There will be no need for-"
"I'll decide that." Draco fixed his black suit blazer, straightening his tie as he beckoned Adeline over to him, "we'd better be off. Don't forget, keep it safe, I-no we need it."
"Perhaps you'd like to take it now?" Borgin offered, hobbling over to the large vanishing cabinet, Adeline nearly snorting in amusement as he attempted to lift it.
""No, of course I wouldn't, you stupid little man," Draco insulted, sneering as his lover let out a sharp giggle, "how would I look carrying that down the street? Just, don't sell it."
"Of course not, sir."
The two teens grew surprised as Borgin bowed lowly, nose nearly touching the floor. However, through the surprise, the two couldn't deny the unbelievable power surge they felt. If one thing was for certain, Adeline and Draco both liked being in control.
"Not a word to anyone, Borgin." Draco raised a brow, again intertwining his and Adeline's hands, something Borgin's eyes flickered straight to, "and that includes my mother, do you understand?"
"Naturally." Borgin muttered, a small smirk on his face as the girl attempted to pull her beloved out of the shop.
It worked, and soon the pair found themselves back out onto the bleak streets of the quickly approaching September.
"I hate him." Adeline spoke, "he's disgusting, vile and cruel. I don't think I've ever felt so uncomfortable in my life."
"Don't worry love," Draco murmured, pressing a chaste kiss against her temple, "we'll never have to go there again if I can help it. Now, let's go find mother and go home, hmm?"
Adeline nodded silently, just wanting to be curled up on a soft bed with her boyfriend.
