"You don't have to go you know?" Daphne pleaded furiously, "who knows what she might do to you!"

"Daph I'm only going to a detention." Adeline laughed as the pair embarked on their journey through the darkening corridors of Hogwarts to Umbridge's office, "it's not like I'm going to be tortured, I'm pretty sure I'll only be writing lines." Adeline pulled out a emerald green quill from her robes, it's base encrusted with diamonds, "look, I even brought my own quill."

"I'm sorry for worrying." Daphne sighed, "I just get this off feeling whenever she's around, like she's secretly evil or something, she might even have a dark mark."

"I don't think secretly evil people ,with dark marks, prance around school corridors wearing bright pink garments." Adeline laughed loudly trying to imagine someone like Umbridge with a death eater tattoo printed on her arm.

"Think what you will." Daphne huffed, " don't say I didn't warn you."

"Daph, if it makes you feel any better you can wait up for me and I'll spill everything that happened, ok?"

Daphne sighed softly and nodded her head, embracing her into a hug, "ok," she smiled at her best friend,
"Promise?" She held up her pinkie finger and Adeline chuckled softly connecting their fingers.

"Pinkie promise." Daphne smiled and turned around, heading back to the dungeons.

"Enjoy your detention with Saint Potter!" She joked, causing Adeline to groan loudly, forgetting Potter would also be doing a detention with her.

After a lonely few minutes, the teen stumbled across Umbridge's office, arriving at the exact same time as Potter.

"What are you doing here?" He sneered at her, eyes glimmering with anger.

"Sorry to burst your bubble Potter." Adeline faked sympathy as she admired how long her nails had grown, "I'm not here out of my own free will, unfortunately I'm not here to play tea parties with good old Dolores, I'm here on detention."

"Do you always have a smart mouth?" Potter asked her exasperatingly.

"No, it's usually just my brain." Adeline tilted her head to the side as she knocked on the door.

"Come in." A sickly sweet voice called.

"Pray for us." The brunette muttered under her breath and pushed open the door, immediately feeling like slamming it back shut and fleeing.

The walls were pink.
The floor was pink.
The furniture was pink.

Adeline bit her tongue to hold back many snarky remarks which would surely make her end up with another detention. Hundreds of plates lined the walls, all holding cats.... cats.

"Good evening Mr Potter, Miss Charm." The women greeted them as the Charm descendent gazed in horror around the room, "take a seat."

Adeline felt Potter give her a gentle nudge towards the seats, situated directly in front of the witch herself, and suddenly felt her legs moving unwillingly towards the seat, throwing her body into it, rather ungracefully.
The cats started to hiss and growl as the pair seated themselves, all Adeline could do was grit her teeth and bare it.

"You two are going to be doing some lines for me today." Adeline smiled, pulling out the quill she had shown Daphne and flashing the diamonds to the other two people in the room.

"As lovely as that quill is Miss Charm, you will not be using it. You're going to be using a rather special one of mine."

"But professor, my mother-"

"Would be very disappointed in you if she found out you were breaking school rules Miss Charm." Umbridge snapped, causing Adeline to slowly reverse her actions and put the quill away, all while maintaining eye contact with Umbridge.

"Good." She smiled cheerily and placed a dull looking maroon quill on her and Potter's desk, "now, Potter, I want you to write 'I must not tell lies.' "

Adeline had a hard time holding the laughter off as she could feel Potters anger radiating from him.

"How many times?" He asked through his teeth, the girl could see his grip on his quill tightening.

"Well.." Professor Umbridge pretended to be deep in thought, "let's say for as long as it takes to... sink in."

"You haven't given me any ink." Potter stated matter of factly.

"You won't need any ink." Umbridge smiled as Harry sighed and turned around in his chair to face the paper.

"And what about me professor?" Adeline asked in mock interest.

"You dearie, will write 'I must not be rude' " Umbridge instructed her.

"How many times?" She questioned, repeating Potter. She watched as he shot her a semi-amused look.

"Like I told Mr Potter, as long as it takes for the message to sink in." Umbridge forced her smile, sitting back down in her office chair.

"You haven't given me any ink, Professor Umbridge." She replied in sarcastic confusion.

"You will not need ink!" She snapped at the teen, causing her to smirk widely, she noticed Potter mirroring her expression in the corner of her eye.

"Ok Professor." She smiled in mock sweetness and turned around to face her own paper. Staring down at it in confusion. No ink?

Shaking her head, the girl put quill to paper and started to lazily scrawl what she had been told to do. Was it legible? No. Did she care? No.

After a few seconds a faint itching and burning sensation erupted from her wrist. Blinking in perplexity, the girl simply shook her head and continued to write. However, after just two more lines the burning ceased to stop. Hissing softly, she touched her wrist and gently lifted her sleeve, becoming shocked to find the words etched on her paper were now carved into her skin.

She could hear Potter hissing in discomfort from beside her as she shot him a look, flashing him her wrist. His eyes widened as the pair shot each other fearful looks.

In that moment, it didn't matter they were enemies, they were both suffering at the hands of the same woman.

"Is there something wrong, you two?" Umbridge asked with fake interest, Adeline simply shook her head, praying Potter would do the same.

"No." Potter also shook his head, "Nothing."

"Yes." Umbridge whispered softly "that's right, because you know deep down that you deserve to be punished, don't you Mr Potter," She flickered her gaze to Adeline "don't you Miss Charm?"

"Go on." Umbridge nodded, "keep writing."
