Thanks for requesting!
"That sim mission was insanely difficult!" Whirl exclaimed. "I'm glad all of us were able to solve it."
"Naturally, thanks to you and Medix," Hoist laughed. "You two are the brightest in our team."
"You two have the brains, but I was the one who acted," Hot Shot bragged, as usual.
"Yeah, you totally didn't get tackled by a lion," Wedge snorted.
"Hey!"
Heatwave walked up to the five recruits as he congratulated them. He noted that their plan was executed smoothly and quickly during the sim mission, earning them a well-earned rest day before their final exams for Year 3. Whirl made a mental note to continue training. Hot Shot headed straight to the gym with Wedge for a Cube match. Medix instantly accepted a phone request from a family to babysit a dog (which, coincidentally, was named Heatwave).
Four of them and Heatwave parted to their respective ways. Hoist remained, unsure of what to do. Perhaps he could work on improvements for the stasis pods? Or he could choose to attend extra classes from Boulder. He sprinted to his workshop, shoved a pile of datapads off his table as he frantically searched for his bucket list.
To-do list
Ranked according to priority/the level of urge I feel towards the item
1. Spend time with Whirl and the others.
2. Professor Boulder's extra classes.
3. Improve stasis pods.
4. Finalise on the draft for the new rescue equipment for Medix.
5. Hang out with Professor Grimlock.
Perhaps he should ignore the first item. Everyone seemed to be so busy minding their own business.
"Maybe checking on just Whirl should be alright, there's no harm in doing that," Hoist shrugged.

"Oww-! Turn off, turbines!"
Whirl flopped to the ground, grunting lightly in pain. She walked out of the room before bumping into Hoist.
"Hey, Whirl! I just came to check on you," the friendly mech smiled.
"Hey Hoist. Thanks, but I'm alright," Whirl smiled back tiredly. "Is there anything you're concerned about?"
Hoist inspected Whirl carefully. Her back was slightly hunched; her optics growing tired each passing second.
"You need some rest, Whirl," Hoist gasped lightly. "You look like you just came back from the battle of Tyger Pax."
Whirl chuckled. "Someone's been reading."
"Well, you gave me the books on my Creation Day. It would be wasteful to not read them," Hoist stated.
"Guess you're right," Whirl giggled.
"Anyways, you really should rest. You're getting tired."
"I want to keep myself in shape, Hoist," Whirl sighed. "If I stop for one day I won't be able to score well for the exams."
"Rest is as essential as practice, Whirl. Time spent on training and resting must be balanced," Hoist advised. "Promise me you'll rest?"
Whirl glanced at Hoist's optics. She could never say no.
"I will. Thanks, Hoist."
Hoist embraced his close friend lightly. He pulled away and waved goodbye as he went back to his quarters. Whirl let out a soft grin, contented that someone is always there to watch over her and care for her.
