  "I dare you to call your crush."

  Heatwave shook his helm in disbelief. Sitting in a circle with Chase, Kade and Dani, it was one of the worst decisions Heatwave has ever made.

  "You bots do love, right?" Dani asked.

  "Affirmative, Dani," Chase answered. "Take Blades as a model example-"

  "CHASE!" Blades yelled, crossing his arms across his chassis.

  "Is there something wrong in telling the truth?" Chase asked innocently before tilting his helm slightly in confusion.

  "There is when it's about your love life," Blades scoffed.

  "Speaking of which," Kade started, "you haven't done the dare I gave, Heatwave."

  Heatwave growled in defeat. He turned to Chase before tapping on his comm. Time seemed to pass slowly as Chase's comm began to ring. Everyone turned to Chase before staring at the red mech, whose faceplates had turned as blue as his love's paint job.

  Heatwave quickly ended the call, stood up and walked away as quickly as he could towards his berthroom, ignoring the calls of his name from Chase. He slammed the door shut before double locking it with a combination lock and a key-lock.

  "Heatwave!" Chase called out, knocking on the door.

  "Stop banging on my door," Heatwave yelled out loudly, trying to cover the knocking noise.

  He leaned against a wall before dropping to the ground slowly, feeling disgusted of himself. There is no absolute reason for him, a leader, to fall for his teammate. Above all, what would Optimus and Chief think about him?

  Morning came, and the poor leader, whose processor was filled with guilt, did not manage to recharge. His processor echoed Optimus's disappointment like a scream echoing from a canyon.

KNOCK! KNOCK!

  "Heatwave?"

  Heatwave tensed up. He was not looking forward to go outside and embarrass himself in front of his team. Most importantly, he didn't want to hear a disappointment lecture from Chief.

  "It is, uhh, me, Chase."

  "What do you need?" Heatwave asked, not bothering to open the door.

  "You."

  He need what? Heatwave glanced at the door with his optics filled with worry and regret. What if Chase came here to lecture him and break his Spark? What if he came to remind him that they are just friends? Regardless, he has to face reality, whether he like it or not.

  Heatwave unlocked the locks before putting his servo on the door handle. With an effortless push, the door creaked open, revealing Chase standing outside with a nervous look.

  "What is it, Chase?" Heatwave asked.

  "Uhm, permission to, uhh, come in?" Chase asked, looking away as if he was scared.

  Heatwave pulled Chase into his room and closed the door. He faced the door with his servo on the door, afraid that someone would just barge in. Chase looked down, noticing the locks Heatwave had used.

  "Why do you need me?" Heatwave asked as he turned to face Chase, expecting a lecture from him.

  "From all these years of being friends with you," Chase started. The word 'friends' pierced through Heatwave's Spark. "I observed that you rarely take care of yourself, hence I came here to make sure you are in working condition."

  He... cares?

  "Chase, you don't have to do this," Heatwave sighed. "I know you're just going to lecture me, so do it. I am your leader, someone who should first of all, not treat his teammates in a biased way."

  Chase walked towards Heatwave without him realising. He glanced over to his leader's dermas before propping himself up to land a small kiss on them. Heatwave looked at the blue mech, completely in shock.

  "Why?..."

  "You helped me in countless ways, Heatwave. So, thank you."

  "You don't have to do this to make me happy."

  "I do, because my Spark has been calling out for you."
