Requested by the beloved Xenodad!
Thanks for requesting!!

Leave. That's all I'm thinking about. I have to leave. I have to kick up my legs and dash for escape. I have to-

I need my freedom. He's nothing but a psycho. I need to escape.

Sometimes when I'm finally left alone, I close my eyes, thinking of an alternate universe where things are all sunshine and flowers. Butterflies would dance around me as I run through the flower field. The bees would pollinate the flowers and create new life. A life full of wonder and pleasure.

I desire that. Being with Overlord isn't what I fancy for.

During our routine walks around the base, me chained up with him, I found an escape... and bolted towards it. Overlord yelled out, but I had already went through.

I'm not stupid enough to not know that space-green portal is a space bridge. Thank you Primus... if you still exist.

My body was thrown to the ground, slamming face first. I forgot how to breathe. My legs felt broken from the impact. Not an entirely great place to land.

When I finally gathered the strength to pick myself up, I was in a garage with five cars, each with different colour schemes, especially one with striking colours and a number painted on the side. Even a truck is here, out of all places.

"Um, hello?" my voice echoed through the vast space above.

Actually, making my presence known to a seemingly empty room is a terrible idea. I began walking around looking for an exit. The garage was large - with computers and Cybertronian old tech, surprisingly. Whoever stays here must be fighting a large scale war, judging by old reports of... Alpha Trion-?

I found a way to climb up the desk and let this alien war consume my mind. Escape didn't sound fun anymore.

"Hey! Get off that you pesky- insect!" a grumpy voice yelled out. I jumped, my heart beating faster each passing second. Who was that? Am I in trouble?

  "W-who's there?" I stammered.

The ambulance clinked and clanked its parts into place. When I took a closer look, I realised he seemed familiar. A gasp blew out my mouth.

  "Ratchet?"

The mech seemed surprised for a moment, but somehow could bring his anger across. "Don't touch anything or I'll dissect you like a frog in a science school project."

I put my arms up in surrender. "No, no, please. I came here by accident. Please don't!"

The majestic truck transformed to a way bigger figure than I expected after seeing Ratchet's Cybertronian tiny size. His gears fitted into place, then his wheels at his... um... thighs. I don't have a crush on him! I just... didn't know how to explain it... But anyway, his arms look huge. The richness of his colour scheme brought out a sense of royalty. When I noticed how familiar the spikes at the side of his helm was, I realised

  Optimus Prime.

  No way.

"Sir," I greeted with a slight bow. Ratchet gave a more puzzled look.

Optimus nods back, despite being slightly confused. "What is your designation?"

"(Y/N)," I smiled. "It's good to see you."

  "Same to you," he replied.

"I'm sorry for butting in like this," I nervously chuckled, "I was with Overlord earlier and-"

"Overlord?" the race car transformed. "What a name."

Ratchet threw a wrench at the poor mech's helm, causing him to squeak in pain.

"He was bringing me to our usual rounds of torturing people... I never wanted to do such a thing, I swear. He takes pleasure in seeing people's reaction towards torture and sometimes, their own demise. Their faces still haunt me from time to time and I can still hear their screams and- god, I feel so safe for once and all I can think about is what I endured and I can't handle those things anymore- DON'T SEND ME BACK PLEASE!"

My vision became blur, mixing in all the colours of the base and the Cybertronians. My face became wet from unknown tears and my brain beating so much that it felt like it was about to explode inside my head. I wailed out loud as the screams of the tortured souls filled my senses. Overlord's laughter. My screaming inside my head. My heart beat so irregular I felt I was dying. Sweat trickled down my face as he moved on to the next victim. The next one. The next one might be me. The next one. The next one doomed to death.

"... and they just passed out. Hey, don't mock me for using the pronoun 'they', okay? I still don't know how to differentiate between male and female in humans!"

I sat up too quickly. Dizziness along with several machines toppling followed. Ratchet was able to catch the machines. A blur figure of a woman walked towards me.

"Lie down, sweetheart. Your head is not clear. Slow down," her gentle voice spoke.

With her help, I was able to lay back down on the soft mattress. This is the first time I ever felt comfortable. First time...

I slept for a good whole day.

When I finally got the most relaxing sleep ever (thanks to the scents the woman had provided), I got down from the bed and carefully navigated my way towards the railing whilst pushing the machines I was connected to with me.

"Hey, (Y/N)! You're awake!" the young mech who had a wrench to his helm earlier approached me excitedly. "I just watched the base's security cameras, and woah you really crushed your helm. Are you better now?"

"Yes, thanks," I rubbed my head. "I feel way better now. Thank you."

"By the way, I'm Smokescreen," he beamed. "And I wasn't clear on how to use pronouns. Jack taught me a few and said I should ask someone for their pronouns before assuming. So, what are your pronouns?"

"They/them, thanks for asking," a smile crept up my lips. "If it's confusing to you, I can explain."

"Oh, I'm listening," Smokescreen's optics shone in curiosity.

Optimus had just returned from patrol with a serene look on his face. Something tells me he did more than just patrol. He went over to the computers to fill up his reports before coming towards me.

"Thanks for helping me," I leaned against the railing as the gentle giant crouched.

"You needed the help, and it is our duty to lend a helping hand, not expecting anything in return," Optimus replied. "How are you feeling?"

"Better. This place is way better than sleeping at my little dungeon."

"Focusing on a positive aspect of where you came from is advisable, (Y/N)," Optimus suggested.

"Yeah... oh! Before I got kidnapped, I often spent time with the Autobots a lot, and they taught me how to play several Cybertronian games. I can show you guys a few!"

"I am certain the team would appreciate that."

"Okay! Get me a gigantic ball, we're playing lobbing!"
